Introduction
Child health is one of the critical sectors in any family, where most of the family regards the children as a blessing. In this case, the health of children within the family requires greater attention to nature the child in the required physical and mental shape. Autism has been one of the increasing medical complications to the children, which has resulted in more diagnoses at a very young age. Never the less, most parents do not understand this condition, until they have medical assistance.
Whereas many parents struggle to help their children to walk through this journey in their entire life, it is essential to understand the complexity of needs required by the children undergoing this situation. Never the less, the society should be ready and willing to welcome children suffering from this condition to ensure that they leave a healthy and independent life without external interferences, which may reduce the aspect of provoking or even threaten them. The topic is worth discussing and analyzing to understand the root of the disease, as well as how people leaving in this condition, can be quickly helped to overcome depression in the society, which helps them live a healthy life.
Purpose
The increased rate of autism is apparent that the disease is a topic worth focusing on understanding if there are factors in which the medical fraternity can employ to limit or control the condition of the children with autism. The increasing number has been varying with the geographical location, where some areas in the USA have a higher number than the others. As a result, it is worth noting that, environmental conditions may influence the shift in change.
On the same token, the paper will seek to evaluate if there are measure through which the medical fraternity can put in place to help curb the situation or improve the leaving condition of the children with this condition. More so, the paper will examine the struggles through which the children with this condition are treated within the society by the community. Through this, the paper seeks to focus on understanding the behaviors of the children leaving with this condition, how and when is the disease is diagnosed (Autismsociety, 2019).
Rubenstein et al. (2019) points out that genetic causes of autism are still in the initial stages of investigation to determine the correlation between the child and the lineage in the family. On the other hand, there are numerous suggestions that certain environmental exposure to expectant mothers may be a point worth investigating, as this increases the chances of the condition development. On the same token, this is supported by the increased number of autism condition in different areas within the state, that have higher numbers than others.
Areas such as California, North Carolina, Texas, and Utah, poses a higher number of children with autism. Even though the increased number of people with this condition has called for mass attention, where nearly 25% of people diagnosed with autism are employed, after undergoing a series of special education, doctors and parents have been on the forefront in helping curb the growing number of children with this condition (Ginn et al., 2017). Through this, it becomes easier for them to suspect and diagnose the disease at earlier stages.
Ginn et al. (2017) points out that autism as the variable impaired development disorder that protrudes at the age of three. A person suffering from this condition depicts a series of unfamiliar social behaviors that results in an abnormal relationship between the family members and the friends as well. Never the less, communication of people suffering from this condition do not have stable communication pattern, where their speech and reasoning are not sequential or processed to give any reasonable out (Rubenstein et al., 2019). As a result, the parent, or the guardian is given the responsibility to learn and interpret the information.
During the early days, autism was believed to be a psychiatric or mental disorder, where most of the doctors pointed the accusing fingers to the mothers of being the reason for the condition to their children (Ginn et al., 2017). With the current analysis and surveys, this has been proved wrong, and there is no direct mapping of the disease between the child and the mother or the family lineage. As a result, autism has remained to be a mystery in the medical world practice. However, there has been an increase in children born with this condition.
In many cases, autism is confined as an indoor disorder, where most of the parents do not expose their children to the community. Through this, patents may be afraid of stereotyping by the community or even society. This increases the chances of the child developing in an environment where he or she do not understand any form of interaction rather than close family members and the family itself. As a result, the child develops in a controlled environment, which deprives him or her a chance for social life.
McCafferty, (2018) points out that getting the children with this condition to the community is one of the essential developments that saves the child in shaping their mental challenges. As a result, their social cultures and interactions can be slowly molded to help them grasp fewer concepts of communication. Even though their recalling capacity is lower than the average level, this does not guarantee them the ability to understand the routine practices that they are exposed to daily.
Mazzucco, (2019) points out that children suffering from this condition, have a series of repetitive body movement that can be distinctive to the regular people. Their body movement involves things such as frequent head banging, hand flapping, or even spinning. In this case, the child tries to avoid interaction with others as they are trapped in their world of imagination. Never the less, any efforts employed to interrupt their activities may result in violence activities.
Even though their communication is harder for the ordinary people to understand, children suffering from this condition, tend to shy off or do not give direct eye contact during the dialogue, never the less, they do not seem to care or even pay attention to those talking to them. In this case, it is a clear depiction that their judgmental and obedience to superior commands such as parents do not have any effect on them. On the same note, their nonverbal communication is cumbersome to interpret or even understand.
There is a distinctive behavior portrayed by children with this condition, where they portray a poor reaction to sensory organs. In a nutshell, they pose a sensory disorder reception, which poses a great danger to their environment. Their concept of interacting with objects is below the average sensory level, which renders the children vulnerable to any form of harm which may fail to be decoded by the sensors on their body, leading to a higher degree of accidents or suffering if not taken care.
As Autismsociety, (2019) observes that, children with this condition have unusual sensitivities to sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste. Through this, high-pitched instruments such as fire alarm or even the school bells may be unfriendly to these children, as most of them do not differentiate between the two states of the pitch. Scratchy fabrics may be irritating to normal people but not to people with autism condition. Their skin sensors, do not incorporate the signal to the brain correctly, which results in irritation and pain to the children.
On the other hand, the flickering of light such as fluorescent light which has effects in the normal eye condition, do not have direct interference to the children, sink they do not respond or react to brighter lighting. Through this, the suffering of the children, due to reduced sensory in the eye is a common practice, that parents or guardians should be extremely cautious in monitoring the environment through which their children are interacting with.
Conclusion
It is essential to understand that autism is not directly connected with the genetic configuration of the parent, which reduces the chance of parental blame. Even though the environmental factors are highly constituted to this matter, there is no clear relationship or common feature that is directly associated with the condition. Through this, autism remains to be a scientific mystery that requires a deeper understanding and analysis of the topic.
On the other hand, parents have a critical role in helping to diagnose and suspect early behaviors of their children's behavior, a step that helps the child to get the required treatment or even assistance. Through this, it becomes easier for parents to seek information relating the care and possible ways through which one can detect unusual changes in children. Through this, a guardian or a parent may be able to deal with the issue of poor sensory reaction, by ensuring that the environment through which the child is operating in is safer.
In conclusion, communication forms the backbone of our activities, where one can receive and process information before giving the desired feedback. As a result, it is essential for the parents to understand that the children have poorly developed communication skills, which may be a challenge to them. As a result, the parents should be open and observative to note the gradual changes within the children diagnosed with autism.
