Culture refers to the different norms and practices of a society or people. An excellent example of a culture is the Chinese astrology/ zodiac, which characterizes different animals to different years. Chinese astrology allocates different animals concerning their attributes and personality. The Chinese Zodiac relates people born in a specific time of the months to possess the character traits of the animals who are representing the months, which shows human and animal compatibility. (Bonavia, 1980) In this paper, I will dig deeper into Chinese Zodiac and focus on the Tiger.

Bravery and self-confidence are the themes portrayed by Tiger according to the chines astrology. In films like Queen of the South, Teresa Mendoza is a woman who demonstrate bravery and self- confidence themes to a great extent. The way she deals with a problem and believes in her ability to solve them is the same way Tiger used to emerge in the third position in the race. Haves and Have Not is also a film with various people who demonstrated these theme a good example in Candace Young. She is a go-getter lady who believes in her ability to use her body in seducing men and eventually achieves whatever she wants. (Johnson & Mathur-Helm, 2011) Tiger is a go-getter too like in the race, no hardships could deter it from achieving its goals. Not even the water current which was opposing it while swimming.

Strength is a theme also applied in most novels. Taking a good example of To Kill a Mockingbird novel, Atticus is one character in this novel who when encountered with a rabid dog in the middle of a street did not fear but faced it with much confidence. (Saney, 2003) Just like Tiger in the race which applied a lot of energy to overcome the water waves.

In music, bravery and self-confidence are themes applied by almost all artist. Taking a good example of Sara Bareille, an American artist, in her song "The Blessed Unrest," bravery and self- confidence are demonstrated by how people danced publicly and with a lot of enthusiasm. Dancing in public is not an easy thing but requires a lot of self-acceptance and courage. (Sulistiyawati, 2016) Tigers are enthusiastic too in their mission.
