Line after line and scene after scene actions and words of most of the characters depicted in this film, The Imitation Game replicates ideologies of leadership that is recognized and appreciated in the community. Alan Turing is a character who takes center stage in this movie on how he comes with solutions of problems presented to them. Alan Turing character is to solve problems as a commander. The problem of Enigma is perceived to be the trickiest challenge that the world has ever faced. But we see Alan through his humid leadership skills he possess, he brings on board a solution to this problem of Enigma.

Given the capacity of a leader, be it center, front or behind the scenes, always problems cropping up needs to be solved. And as a respectable leader, one carries the responsibility to approach unearth glitches arising. On the other hand, when unravelling these challenges, it should not be done blindly. The glitches should be resolved with knowledge, logic and a heart of the encounter one faces. This evident when Alan Turing approaches the problem that they are exposed to. He breaks and solves the Enigma code solemnly. Back of Alan Turing mind knows that the problem is thought-provoking and that a decent solution to the system of logic has to be found. Not only does he know that, he whole heartedly puts his effort alongside people succeeding him to find the solution. His wit of leading his team to unravel the breaking of Enigma is recommendable.

Despite solving the problem presented to him, Alan Turing didnt in the first instance the concept of you cannot do it alone. He tried to embrace his duties as a one man show. He almost failed terribly. Thus, the best leadership principle is that one needs help from others. Alone cannot not be foreseeable. Help from others is important and should be embraced. No one man show. It cannot work, it is deemed to fail in the long run. Equally, the act of knowing whom you are working with is imperative too for a leader. Alan had the logic, passion and wit to disentangle the problematic situations presented to him. Through his thoughts and actions, he assumed he could succeed alone. With his thinking, he was wrong. Leadership principles does not recommend one man in decision making and visioning the future outcomes or challenges presented to them. Acts of leadership philosophies does not advocate working alone. One should embrace as a leader other people to care and support, humble and ground you while giving you new perspectives and insights. A good leader should shy away from making lonely decisions as Alan did initially.

Alan Turing did not prioritize the people he was working with. As a good leader, the folks he or she is leading should always come first. Considerable time should be spent on knowing them so well. Their weaknesses, strengths, characters, passions and whom they are as individuals should be the foremost of a good leader to know. A good leader should encourage and care for his team. Nurturing them and pushing them as they grow should be part and parcel of a good leader. Alan Turing missed most of these aspects of a good leader. Alan misses most of these concepts. He says, When most people just talk to one another, they dont express wholly what they mean. Usually what they say and expected of them is different from what they exactly are saying. These are among the best qualities critiqued of aspects of a good leader Alan Turing is lacking. As a good leader, you ought to attune to the prerequisites of the ones you are leading although, they are not expressing explicitly of what they exactly mean. As a good leader, the concept of being able to decrypt all the information they are saying to you should be processed first and apprehended. Thus, the act of knowing who works with you and how they work misses in this film. Alan Turing misses this concept completely. Thus, a responsible leader ought to fathom the people around him or her and should be a good example of vulnerability and honest to all of them. He or she should consent them to see him who the really him his and how passionate he is to his work. Thus, respect should be mutual and exercised in both quotas.

Alan Turing at some point ignored the concept of different feedbacks from same challenge. From the start of the movie, he perceived solutions offered by others regarding cracking the Enigma code as useless. He believed his decisions were final and could solve the mathematical challenging facing them. Alans concept was that, just because others thought differently from him, it meant they were no longer thinking. As a noble leader, he or she allows everyone to have divergent decisions and should be accorded a fair share of hearing. One may love strawberries, others hate ice skating, others get allergic to pollen and while others shade a tear to a sorrowful film, but all in all, they all have something useful to help in resolving a problematic dilemma. The point here that Alan Turing escaped to capture is that, despite having different preferences, tastes, everyones brains labor differently hence we think in a different way.

The leadership model embraces the concept of a leaders surrounding himself by folks who pours a lot of inputs to resolve challenges facing them. A good leader should encompass other peoples feedback on the said challenging them. Thus, as a good leader, you must be cognizant of the realty that all these people surrounding you as a leader think differently and thus, their perspectives on certain matters may vary from yours. This leadership model was virtually lacking from Alan Turings view of leadership. Hence, as some concept of leadership elements suggest, a decent leader should never be afraid of the diverse thinking of other team members ho their ideas are different. As a moral leader, you should embrace all the upcoming differences and use them to help the group grow and come up with solutions that are even better than the ones that you may up come with as an individual. Therefore, The Imitation Game (2014) film through Alan Turing failed to embrace the concept of accommodating different ideas emanating from team members when coming up with credible solutions to challenges facing them.

Lecturers or instructors in education constantly teach us to uphold high anticipations to all the students they teach, since all of them live up to what their tutors presume of them. All these ideas that originate from the corridors of class govern also the leadership as well. Alan Turing disregarded this concept to a point that, all was not going well. Leaders should expect more from the people they lead. Much should be looked upon by team members. A leader should never let decisions of others run to a waste. He should encompass them fully and never disregard any as Alan Turing used to do. Alan never gave encouragement to the ones he was working with at the initial stages. He never imagined that thy will bring on board important solutions to the cracking of Enigma code. Thus, we all should shy away from not accommodating other peoples views. Their inputs are weighty and should be taken into consideration. Hence, as a leader, he or she should encourage the ones working under him or her, have imagination that all they are doing is always great and is on point to lead the entire team to where they are aiming to attain. Other ideas of creativity and trying new things should be encouraged. Impossibilities should be a thing of the past. Despite the Enigma code seen as being impossible to crack, it is through a well-coordinated team work that unraveled the cracking of Enigma code.

A good leader when exposed to certain challenges should be at liberty and somber when tackling them. As evident in The Imitation Game (2014), Alan is being asked some irritating questions by another man. These questions are touching directly on the life of Alan Turing. The way he answers them breaks my heart. As a noble leader, the way you react to such questions marks th peak of integrity one possess. Alan Turings answers such as, Now you decide that I am a war hero, am I a criminal, am I a human, or am I a machine? is indecencies to a leader who others surrounding him look up to. Detective Nock in the movie continues to reply in answer sessions as, Am not the creature to answer to such queries.

Despite the above conversation deemed to be rude, what Alan said next incessantly hurts me most. He say, You as an individual, you are useless to me. You have no part to play whatsoever to me. Alan Turing expected as being a leader to be praised and told that he is a good man. In his quest of searching for that someone to praise him of all his achievements, and if his deeds matters in the eyes of others as being sins. He totally crumples qualities and elements of a good leader. The most important principle of leadership is knowing whom you are in the eyes of your juniors or those who surround you. Power of authority should never be the driving force behind what you engage in public. As a responsibility of good leader who upholds integrity and observes all the principles of leadership should never seek any approval from others who surround you or are under your jurisdiction. Thus, a respectable leader should acknowledge himself first and know who he is, find all these answers in himself and thereafter be confident what he possess and who he is. Hence, in order to lead others, you must know the person you are before others tell you who you are.

Despite the concept of leadership being challenging, some people make it worthy. Despite Alan never acknowledging this as being a fact, Joan Clarke sums it well here. He says,

Do you know, this morning I was on a train that went through a city that wouldnt exist if it wasnt for you. I bought a ticket from a man who would likely be dead if it wasnt for you. I read up, on my work, a whole field of scientific inquiry that only exists because of you. Now, if you wish you could have been normal I can promise you I do not. The world is an infinitely better place precisely because you werent.

Thus, from the above John Clark sentiments and the way Alan Turing spoke to others, it is my certainty some challenges can be worthy if they are encompassed within our capabilities and people oriented. It is also evident that as a leader, all your actions have an understanding underlying of our past, present and future actions hence will take a toil effect on the people who looks up to them. This is evidenced on the code breakers and Alan Turing in the film of The Imitation Game (2014). The entire code breaker team where Alan is inclusive noticed that every given time they were unsuccessful in their quest to crack the code, every portion of facts and material they decided on not to share or share, affected those they loved. Thus because of these decisions they arrived at made them to be regarded...
