Religion refers to a set of practices and belief which a group of people decides to agree amongst them. These set of belief involves the nature, universe purpose, cause, and ritual observation and people's devotions. Further, the religion is moral of conduct that governs the human affairs (Armstrong, 2007). Religion started when God created Adam and gave them the Ten Commandments which were to guide them to differentiate between good from evil. In that God worked with them and enjoyed their fellowship. Religion started in Eden with Adam and Eve enjoyed a close relationship with God. According to Simmons and Tullos (1990), Religion according to world context it refers to the relationship between the culture, politics, economics and social relationships which exist in every level of life. Religion and Culture has a correlation in which it influences peoples habits in which can be a tradition, how to pray, clothing trends and putting hair styles. This essay reflects the influence of religion on the United States of America.

Role of religion in the United States

Religion in the United States plays social and political role. Socially, religion has in the past the advocated for equal treatment of all colour citizen equal treatment. The last 20 years in the United States the issue of racism largely the black American and white dominance rock the country negatively. Its the church leaders in particular who stood against racism and forced the government to initiate the law on equal treatment of all persons irrespective of their race. Similarly, the church has played a role in the social work; they have occasionally visited the sick in their homes or hospitals and provided them with both spiritual guidance, feeding the need, and ensuring that leave according to Gods teaching of loving one another(shaw,2011).

The churches advocates for social justices of the less fortunate and the oppressed in the society. The usually speak out against injustices and wrongdoing in the society by supporting the policy that promotes peace and protection of the society against the violence of any kind. The religion can work towards reducing poverty in the community by the share preaching the notation of giving to the poor and sharing with the wealthy and the have-nots. The inter-religions can set aside fund on helping the needy and then invite other donors and other government organs to contribute toward the kitty.

Religion over the years has greatly influenced the American politics, through advocating for electing the morally upright candidates that when elected can bring justices. The inter-religion in the US have worked toward the respect of all humanity by opposing the abortion bill and hanging sentence in prisons today by criminals. The religion has played a role in the adoption of favorable government policies and law by advocating for electing the righteous people in the state who will present this positive views and ensure they are supported in the Congress and passed. The religion has played a bigger role in promoting equity in the all over the world. The churches in specific have always advocated for equal treatment of all human beings since are all God creatures. It has promoted respect and peace in whole over the world.

To conclude, religion has immensely influenced the United States socially, by advocated for non-discrimination of black- American, helping the poor, against social injustice and equity for all. Economically, affected the rich to help the poor through donation and improved social welfare of all citizens. Politically, played on ending against injustices acts, violence and equality in the distribution of resources.
