One of the most interesting things about the policy on environmental conservation is the apparent double standards. The rules that motorists have had to conform to in their use of vehicles have seen the government go to the lengths of regulating the design of engines and their resulting effect on the environment. Air transport, on the other hand, has realized limited restrictions (Chadri 1). The emission of fine particles in the air by airplanes is perceived not to realize as much threat to the atmosphere as other forms of transport. The truth of this argument remains challenged. Any pollutant is harmful and must not be ignored under the assumption of negligence (Chadri 1).

Looking at the restriction that has been put by the authorities on other forms of transport present a clear picture of the policy the country should implement across all forms of industry. In the car industry, many companies have been brought to court on environmental degradation. The most recent subject of this discussion has been PSA (Benezet 1). The continued use of their products realizes much harmful emission into the air. This is unacceptable in the country and therefore a violation of the policy on environmental conservation. The country has a set threshold for the amount of pollution that can sustain a conducive living and working environments. It is, therefore, important to the authorities that in major cities like Paris, a certain level of concern for the environment be observed. Threshold limits are meant to be a worst case scenario resolve that puts an important issue like environmental conservation into perspective. It is important that the value of a clean and safe environment be appreciated right from the users of products to the producers of the product. The policy on environmental conservation should not prioritize on what forms of transport should be the focus of environmental conservation but rather develop a holistic plan.
