Introduction

Education is important for the purposes of human development. It is the educational philosophy that determines how effective the education process will be. Philosophy can be defined as a guiding principle to behavior. It guides how education is carried out and it is usually well thought out and planned for teachers to implement (Noddings 2018). In the education process, the teacher and the student have t role to play so as to help achieve the set goals. The main goal is to ensure the philosophy is in line with the teaching materials available. The course materials provided many areas on which the educational philosophy is applied effectively and areas that can affect how the philosophy is applied.

Education philosophy adopted by the state can determine the extent to which students are able to learn and understand. It also shapes their way of thinking and life in general. For example, Plato's philosophy of education was that education should be holistic in nature. It should be theoretical and skill-based with the best students receiving the most and advanced form of education. Students should be taught on facts, skills and physical discipline for them to benefit properly from the education philosophy put in place (Noddings 2018).

The student has a role to play in the learning process. Students vary in terms of their intelligence and understanding capacity. They have to understand their capacity with the help of the teacher so that they are taught in a manner that they can understand and retain knowledge for use in future. The teaching philosophy adopted should take into consideration the age of the students involved and their stage of learning. It is important for the students to thoroughly understand the objectives of the learning process they engage in so that they can achieve their learning goals. With time, the students are able to get the education value that the philosophy of education intended to be impacted in them (Brockett and Hiemstra, 2018).

The teacher's role in the teaching philosophy is the most important. A teacher has a better understanding compared to the student. The teacher shapes the teaching philosophy to accommodate the mental capacity of the student. Testing and quizzing are what the teachers use to measure the students understanding and get to know where they are not doing well with the aim of mapping out areas that students need improvement. The planning and delivery of education objectives guided by the teaching philosophy adopted are done by the teacher who is trained to handle the students in a professional manner. The teacher should be a role model to the students and shape their behavior (Brockett and Hiemstra, 2018). Teaching methodology is based on the teacher's philosophy of education. The teacher must have teaching specifics to guide the teaching process and the underlying philosophy of the education process and assessment have done at the end. The teacher must have the teaching beliefs that guide him or her in planning on what and how to teach the students. It is effective to use examples and evidence in teaching. It has been proved to be an effective methodology in the delivery of the expected education philosophy objective (Noddings 2018).

Conclusion

Philosophy guides the life of an individual to achieve the intended purposes and goals. Education is a process that one starts from a young age and a philosophy of teaching must be in place to make sure the education process is helpful to the student. Teachers and students should both play their roles in ensuring the intended philosophy in education as applied and education goals achieved.
