Firstly, the U.S, through the leadership of President Trump has been considering a pre-emptive strike against North Korea to force it to stop its weapon programs. The nation is said to be drawing up military options as diplomacy had failed to curb the rogue regime under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. On the other hand, a group of legislators and advisors have warned that a pre-emptive attack on North Korea would be catastrophic because of the possible nuclear retaliation. The windows of opportunity to strike North Korea without the risks of atomic retaliation closed many years ago, and so the only way to respond to the issues is through diplomatic strategies. In reality, the Pyongyang has made considerable advances in its ability to strike the US with its nuclear power.
