Vico, in his book, New Science discussed methods that were far much different from the Cartesian science (Parry, 1989). He explained different types of evidence that could not match those that were highlighted by the Descartes. The proofs include the theistic proofs that monitor the spiritual concepts, ethical proofs that deal with the philosophical understanding of the poetry and philological approaches that will consider the parts of history. In conclusion, the idea of Vico was recognized by Peter Hamilton, Knowledge and Social structure (1974) that tried to show more thoughts on the enlightenment period. The intellectuals of this period mainly used his views. Therefore the appreciation of Vico's effort was evident when French historian borrowed his ideological principles and models.
