Introduction
LA California is a city commonly known as Los Angeles is situated in Southern California in the United States. It is the second populated city after New York City in the United States of America, and it is a metropolitan area. The population in Los Angeles is estimated to be more than 16 million. The city stretches across coastal plain located between the Pacific Ocean and Mountains. The city is encompassed in Los Angeles County which also joins other cities that include Pasadena, Long Beach, and Beverly Hills. The population density in metropolitan area differs prominently in such that in mountainous areas the population is low where it is estimated to be one person per square mile whereas in downtown Los Angeles the population is high estimated to be 50,000 per square mile. The area of the city is estimated to be 1207 square kilometers (466 square miles)
The city is considered one of the world class city lately unlike in the 20th century where it was seen just as "a huge village." The reason the city was just seen as a huge village without decency was that it used to lack necessary building blocks allied with cityhood the like of natural harbor. However, currently, it established itself to be significant Centre of agriculture, commerce, industry, and tourism. Also, it is linked to good leisure, recreation facilities and gentle climate with exceptional aura for celebrities who act Hollywood. The city as well as a place of racial and ethnic variety and most of its residents like the lifestyle that relies on romanticizes, automobile, casualness, and single-family abode. The city is well known of riots, regularly outbreak of fire, gang welfare and earthquakes and those are considered just as social problems that are likely to be witnessed in any big cities around the world. The city is mostly taken by the mountain handcuffs that run from east to west. The mountains in the city include Santa Ana Mountains, Santa Monica Mountain, San Jose Hills, Puente Hills, and Repetto Hills. The city also has unique beaches that attract millions of tourist and sun worshippers yearly. The major river in the city is the Los Angeles River that is located in the south that prolongs from south of Pacific Ocean and east San Fernando Valley. The river flows toward the southern ocean and comes from the San Gabriel Mountains. Also, there is San Gabriel River that normally meets with Los Angeles River through a channel known as Rio Hondo.
The city occupies a portion of the southern part of the United States of America and has a diversity of topography. The city climate is categorized as Mediterranean or semiarid that results from the harmonious interaction of appropriate natural condition. Most of the pollution in the city is caused by the motor- vehicle emission that affect the climate of the city; however recently antipollution laws has been endorsed by local authorities and government to reduce the pollution. Despite the enacting of the laws in the Los Angeles city concerning the antipollution still, the air pollution remains a serious problem just like other cities in the country. In the city, it witnesses two seasons that is abstemiously warm spell ad moderately cool season. The dry and abstemiously warm spell normally last from April to November when roughly estimated whereas wet and moderate cool extend onward from November to around April next year. The Los Angeles temperature is estimated to range between 17 to 18 degrees Celsius. However, sometimes temperature differ depending on the seasons in the city since in the summer period it is warmer as compared to the winter season. (Heckman et al., 1999)
The environment in the city such as prolonged drought, earthquakes, heavy rains, thrashing surf, mudslides, and wind-fanned fires normally pose a lot of challenges to human's livelihood. The city has a lot of different native's trees such as the maples, oaks, willows, and sycamores that make the city look beautiful and attractive to the tourist. Also, the exotic trees, shrubs, and flowers have been grown in the city because of its favorable environment. The exotics tree that has been mostly grown in the city includes the pepper and eucalyptus trees.
The animals that were found in the past like grizzly, pronghorn antelope and black bears are not there anymore but animals such as deer, coyotes, raccoons and still there. There are also few lions that are located at the Beverly Hills to attract the tourist to the city. The downtown Los Angeles is where cultural facilities and commercial offices are located. It has unique areas such as Music Centers, Spring Street, Library Square, Broadway, Chinatown, Staple center, Olvera Street and the Little Tokyo. These areas are packed during the workdays that are mostly morning hours but empty at evening hours.
The building that is the largest and tallest in the city is the Bunker Hill building. Downtown Los Angeles has few factories and most of the restaurant, theatres, and stores were lost when it was constructed afresh. The city is well known for wholesale of jewelry, furniture, flowers, and garments among the others.
