Life as a knight had two diverse meanings in the feudal system. From the perspective of social class, a knight was a member of the society who was known to be a low ranking noble. However, in regard to profession, a knight was one mounted warrior. As a member of the nobility, one had to be trained in warfare and had to perform some form of military service to the king.

As a knight in the feudal system, it was vital that one took some time to ensure that they improved their knightly skills on a daily basis. Some of the skills that had to be polished regularly included the use of weapons, medieval warfare, and horsemanship. Moreover, one had to live strictly by the Code of Chivalry. Since feudalism did allow for the governing of large territories without some form of central government, it was imperative that each lord had some form of an army in the bid to defend the land. It is also imperative to comprehend that the life of a knight had some vicissitudes in tat the various lords of the society may in time after time go to war. Nevertheless, the feudal system allowed for one in the society to advance themselves through military service.
