Introduction
The field of arts has undergone several gradual changes over time (Candy, 37). Over about seventy years before digitization, the work of art was viewed as a 'bullet' that aroused the most emotive subjects of the community such as war, changes in politics, etc. (Julian, 89). Both the historical and digital arts had several implications (Manovich, 75). This paper explores the social, political and historical perspectives of both past and digital painting. It mainly gives an overview of the contrast between the two artworks as discussed below
In traditional painting art, lines and color tones were blended in a way that was much pleasant and attractive to the eyes (Lisa, 56). An example of the traditional painting was the Indian painting which expressed how the civilizations flourished through the ancient times (Lisa, 22). However, upon the discovery of the digital painting, digital artists no longer use the manual ways of art but rather the non-linear method where the pictures are often arranged in layers that can then be edited independently. Digital artists have got various tools that facilitate painting of the artwork (Lisa, 22). For instance, they have a series of virtual palette where they can select their colors from. They also can digitally correct mistakes that they may make during the painting process through the use of the pencils, erasers, brushes as well as a variety of 2D and 3D tools (Lisa, 20). It is thus easy to distinguish between traditional and digital art.
In the digital painting, most of the artworks are done by computer programs where the creativity of the human is required hence the person who operates the computer program cannot be referred to as an artist but rather the program operator (Lisa, 15). It is important to note that the presence of the digital programs saves the artists on the cost of purchasing painting requirements, e.g. paintbrush, canvas, colour, etc because all these are inbuilt in the computer (Julian, 13).
According to Julian (15), digital painting has saved the artist on the time that he or she could otherwise use in the drying the work after painting. Moreover, over the years painting as an art has been used to send the political, historical and social message. For example, painting as an art has been used to evoke particular emotions and moods and to spur social equity and political change across the world. Some artists like Lisa Kori and Salvador Orara have also used painting as art to criticize society as well as carry out commercial advertisements (Julian, 13).In conclusion, digital art has done a lot I the improvement of the field of arts. Various sectors of arts, e.g. photography and painting can be done faster and more efficiently in the digital programming software.
Conclusion
Therefore, digital paintings, like other modern arts, take into account the political systems and diversities across the world. Many digital artists examine how digital picture can be incorporated to re-engage the body for instance by conjuring the senses of physical immersion, intimacy as well as interaction (Julian, 99). However, unlike the modern artwork, digital painting has posed several pitfalls; for instance, the trust in the images portrayed by the digital photographs has been lost. Furthermore, the digital art is still under establishment hence isolated to the treatments of specified art forms (Lisa, 22).
