Introduction
Prevention and advancement are vital to patients and providers in many ways. Preventive care strategies are essential to both the care providers and the patients as well. Patients can stay healthier and get adequate treatment. It is essential to start the medications before the beginning of disease because it will help one in staying healthier and in the event of the illness, they already know what to do.Preventive care helps to shift the focus of healthcare from treating diseases to ensuring maintenance of good health and well-being. It is better to prevent a disease before its occurrence because it becomes easier to stay healthy and know the preventive measures to take in the meantime. One needs to take into consideration when to have preventive care because they cannot prevent an illness that has already taken place (Manners, 2017). Strategies need to come before the sickness or before these individuals take note of any signs that may be suggestive. The care providers will be able to assess the right strategies to implement to ensure that the individual does not suffer from the disease.
Prevention measures for patients that the care providers can suggest include leading a healthy lifestyle where the individuals need to eat healthily, exercise and also engage in their efforts that ensure they are healthy (Donabedian, 2005). Care providers should know the preventive care in the medical setting that they should prescribe to the patients such as attending health care services which include the issues of physical examinations, tests in the laboratory, screening, and immunizations among others. These services will help the patient know the risks they are prone to and thus determine the preventive measures to take (Manners, 2017). Preventive measures will ensure that one pays less for the medical services such that the long-term cost of managing the disease is lowered because one can take notice of conditions at the early stage which will be manageable. Advancement is also essential to patients and caregivers. Improvements in technology such as the introduction of portal technology have helped to form a platform where the patients and caregivers can interact to ensure that they access medical records and monitor their health online. Such interaction helps to keep one's health on track. Advancements in telemedicine are also important especially in the rural setting where people have access to services to the metropolitan services that medical facilities offer.
Managed care has also changed over time and will continue to improve in the future. The present facilities for medical care have good criteria that they use for selecting practitioners with exemptional standards. Thus, these people can adequately manage their patients with ease (Donabedian, 2005). There have been formal programs that ensure quality assurance to the patients and improvement in the quality of services that medical facilities offer. It is likely that more health maintenance organizations are formed in the future to take care of patients and provide a room for care providers to perform their tasks accordingly. There is hope for reduced medical costs for managed care because of the involvement of government in medical facilities.
Conclusion
It is essential for patients to consider prevention measures to prevent them from diseases that may have adverse effects on them. Advancement in healthcare ensures that the practitioners know what to do and perform the task better. Managed care services should be offered to patients because they need them.
