It is a manual that incorporates the policies and the procedures that are critical for maintenance of schedules, outlines the flying limitations. It also contains the pilot's duty times in conjunction with many other considerations such as the application of flight to business, its safety and efficiency. It includes the following aspects; security and risk management operations, the regulatory compliance and efficient (Sheen, 2013). Lastly, it contains the proper use of the policy regarding expectations and well-structured plans.

The FAA document will provide the specifications or data on the aircraft and was a result of the aircraft airworthiness certificate? What specifically would this data sheet provide?

The document that provides the specification is the 14CFR part 21. The data sheet provides national and registration marks, manufacturers make and model of the aircraft. The aircraft serial number, the category of operation of the plane, authority and the basis for insurance (The United States, 2016).

Describe the sub-structural members of the semi-monocoque fuselage

It consists of the bulkheads, frame assemblies, and formers reinforced by longerons on the skin which are made up of aluminium alloy. They are typically used to prevent tension and compression from bending the fuselage in conjunction with stingers manufactured from either single piece of aluminium alloy or aluminium formed. They give shape and attachment to the skin (The United States, 2016).

Describe the four aerodynamic forces acting on an aircraft in flight. What is an equilibrium?

The aerodynamic forces are; weight, lift, drag and thrust forces. Lift, it is an opposing force generated by an airplane to overcome force resulting from the weight. It is usually directed perpendicular towards the direction of flight (Sheen, 2013). Its magnitude depends on size, velocity, and shape of the aircraft. Weight is a force oriented towards the centre of the earth. Drag, it is the resistance force generated as a result of air resistance when the aircraft is in motion. It is directed along and opposite to the flight direction. Lastly, thrust is a force generated by the propulsion system of the plane to overcome drag.

Equilibrium refers to when all the opposing forces acting on an aircraft are balance. That is a steady and unaccelerated condition (Sheen, 2013).

Describe what a Minimum Equipment List (MEL) is, when can an aircraft not depart a station, and name the four columns associated with the MEL document

MEL refers to a document and method that operators of the plane use in the acquisition of relief from the Federal Aviation Regulation requiring that every equipment getting installed on the aircraft ought to be workable during the flight period. The aircraft cannot at any time depart a station when the Pilot got a SID clearance certificate (The United States, 2016). The four columns associated with the MEL document include; LOA, STC, MMEL and the MEL procedures document.

Provide a list of the 14CFR parts for airworthiness standard as a starting outline for maintenance policy and procedure book

14CRF part 43-maintanance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding, and alterations

14 CRF part 33-Airworthness standards: aircraft engines

14 CRF part 35- Airworthiness Standard: propeller14 CRF part 21- certification procedures for products and parts
