Medical workers should show a high level of adequacy in their career jobs. Health authorities have mainly developed performance measurement systems for adhering to the primary objectives of the health sector. Performance measurement systems work by improving quality while regulating the cost (Bahouth, Blum, & Simone, 2013). This has enabled the nurses to achieve their objectives. A nurse should aim at meeting all the individual goals for the purpose of improving the clinical sector and clinical advancement.
Individually, in order to determine the problems faced by large populations in the clinical sector, as a nurse has set five primary goals which include: to show independence when outlining issues and also looking for solutions to health care, to achieve evidence-based clinical practice. The main aim is to improve patient care, to analyze the issues related to the nursing development and their solutions, to apply pedagogical methods used in nursing education, to participate in the improvement of nursing for the good of the society (Bahouth, Blum, & Simone, 2013). To evaluate myself, on how have managed to attain my goals, I have worked hard to achieve those goals mainly by getting to analyze each one of them and working on them without prioritizing.
By applying the pedagogical methods, have managed to help the patient on how to handle him or herself when undergoing a particular sickness. As a nurse has assisted in promoting health and advised patients on how to cope with illness. I have worked for hand in hand with the clinical team to give the care required by each patient. Have tried to aid the society by educating them on how to maintain and improve their health situations. I have advanced in handling the patients mainly when undertaking an interview with a particular patient, whereby before administering any drug or test to a patient I always take the history of the patient. I can handle an average of 20 patients per day, without actually being supervised, which to me its a great achievement.
Even if I have attained, my goals, I have faced challenges like; violence behavior from the patients who are not ready to be injected, inadequate staffing that has contributed to fatigue and increase in injury cases. Moreover, increase in workplace hazards that may include exposure to dermatitis, which is hand washing related, exposure to harmful pathogens such as viruses, and exposure to flu germs and cold have significantly affected me. Most of the patients in hospitals are challenging to grasp whereby they can be violent to the nurses. Nurses mainly handle materials and chemicals that may be hazardous to their skin and health (In Roussel, In Harris, & In Thomas, 2016). Cleaning agents, radiations and medications are the primary chemicals and materials that pose a great harm to the nurses. Since its the work of the nurses to take care of the patients, they are always at a risk of getting contagious diseases. The increase in the cost of health care has led to reduced maintenance and managing of nursing staff resulting in the unbalanced patient to nurse ratio.
Due to some of these challenges, I have not been able to participate in improving nursing field to provide excellent clinical services. For nurses to feel safe at their workplaces, all those challenges should be looked into. Nurses should aim at offering superior services mainly by cutting fatigue through creating a schedule that is flexible to avoid hectic working hours (Thomas, 2016). The government should aim at providing premiums and a few bonuses to increase the number of nurses. Conclusively, I intend to work harder in order to achieve myself a goal and avoiding indulging in most of the challenges faced by nurses. By doing this, I am sure of providing excellent services to the patients and the community.

- During American civil war, the Northern region was being identified as states that were free and ones which opposed Confederacy and slavery. The struggle against secession as well as slavery obscured the reality. As early as 1796, the terms South and North were used as a warning against dangers of political differences which existed, bringing forth prevalence of unions in the North more than the South. In the North, West, and Midwest states, development was majorly characterized by a system of agricultural diversity, commercial vigor, and free labor. Towards the end of World War 11, labor and politics in the North West, and Midwest states were having a unionization rate of approximately 40 per cent (Minchin, 2006). The New Deal party of Northern States was favoring formation of Unions unlike in the South. In the Southern States, there was low unionization rate and also the political climate did not favor the formation of unions. The Southern reactionary politics had pulled the political economy of America to the right, hence becoming a barrier to the establishment of a social welfare style similar to that of Europe and also undermined the formation of unions. Therefore, due to social and political goodwill, union prevalence in the North, Midwest, and Western States of America was high as compared to the Southern States which faced united hostility of both social and political will towards union formation.
