Introduction
This organization was formed sixteen years ago where it was a drug and alcohol center for treatment with no profit for both adults and adolescents. This paper focuses on analyzing and summarizing a case study about Crossroads Center by answering three questions outlined in the case study.
The Current Situation at the Crossroads Center
The center is found in a rural area almost an hour from an urban center that is major. The center has two segments which operate in different styles varying with the patient's age. Segment one is a facility for the treatment of adults where it is done by psychologists and therapists who provide support (Anderson, 2018). The second segment of the center is a facility for residential treatment of adolescents where all patients live together, and clinical psychologists, nurses, therapists, counselors of addiction and physicians support the facility. The residential center is costlier to operate because of the additional staff and needs for housing. This means that there are around thirty to forty patients who live at the center at any time. The sources of funding for the facility of treatment of adolescents are insurance, grants, federal programs, foundations, and state programs. The center experienced a risk because of a new law and Darrin decided to ask for advice to avoid problems.
The director is looking to accomplish a situation where he continues working with the team of employees he has even though they do not have a medical degree. They possess other academic degrees but not medical degrees. Despite them not being medical graduates, the patients love and respect them, and in addition to that, they have been the cause of all the success that has been realized in the center for the past three years hence it is not easy to just lay them off from work (Anderson, 2018). The director wishes to refuse the funding from the state so that he can retain his employees, but this is faced with several challenges. If the center only depends on the funds from its grants and the federal government, it will have to lay off some of its staff and reduce the number of patients served by almost two thirds. This will mean rejecting very many people who need help from the center.
Design an Engagement That Uses Dialogic Od Practices to Assist Darrin
"I am happy that you got back to me in such a short time," Darrin said as Lisa had a seat in his office as the board of seven employees waited eagerly to hear what Lisa had to say. "I consulted many of my colleagues, and from where it stands, the state is very serious about the set law, and they will need you to refund their six months funding if you will not have sacked your employees by then and employed employees who have a degree in medicine," Lisa continued. Darrin's face was filled with worry. "So what do we do now to solve this situation once and for all," Derrick the assistant director asked. "You will have to send these proposals that I wrote for you to these banks as in their addresses. These proposals will help the banks in funding you as I have explained every detail of this center and even explained how this organization had been a success to many people in the society." Lisa replied. "Thank you very much for these proposals," Darrin said as he stood to pick them. "I appreciate your help.
I look forward to getting positive results from these proposals." He finished as he shook her hand.
Conclusion
The Crossroads Center has been helping drug addicts to change and stop using drugs entirely. This paper has been a success in explaining a summary of the current situation at the crossroads center, explaining what the client wants to accomplish and the challenges that exist for the client achieving the objectives and designing an engagement that uses dialogic OD practices to assist Darrin.
