2001, my interest in this rewarding field was heightened by my Dads purchase of a second hand Toyota 1998 Camry. Every time the engine cranked from its complete silence, I could feel the power that came with it. It was one of my early exposures to mechanical designs and controls. More specifically, I got deeply enthralled in engines when I watched my father repairing the cars engine. Additionally, my Dads great fascination for engineering-related documentaries e.g. Megastructures and Modern Marvels was also a strong pillar behind my curiosity in engineering. Watching these marvelous engineering works with my Dad made me learn mechanical designs and mechatronics. By then, I was only a boy of 13 or 14.

In my undergraduate studies, I found thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and manufacturing courses very exciting and practically satisfying. I, therefore, devoted most of my free time to cognize these engineering courses better. Thermodynamics was my first favorite course. What intrigued me the most in the course is its immediate real-world applications e.g. in power cycles and refrigeration. Then came fluid mechanics, where I learned its application in how wind tunnels work. In manufacturing course, I was able to learn mechanics of machines and fabrication techniques. The practical approaches to learning these courses made me quickly grasp the fundamental aspects of the courses.

As part of my final-year thesis, I worked on a computer-based simulation project regarding elastic field analysis on a racing car chassis and impact attenuator design analysis. While doing this thesis work, I gained in-depth knowledge and operating skill on simulation software ANSYS, MATLAB, and SOLIDWORKS. This ANSYS software was used to elastic strain, total deformation, and equivalent stress analysis.

I also enjoyed learning about different theories of engineering as well as their real-life

applications. I liked the positive experiences gained from performing experiments and

conducting research. Some of the knowledge and skills which have helped me in engineering research include programming, design software, simulation software, and office. I am fascinated most by simulation software because of its capability to calculate and solve various engineering problems. My ability to use simulation software has helped me to solve problems related to nonstandard geometries and complex boundary conditions. Additionally, my proficiency in simulation modeling has enabled me to foresee the design task and its end result before undertaking the manufacturing process and performance tests.

I realized that my skills should not be limited to curricular activities only so I engaged myself in other training programs such as the basic pneumatic and electro-pneumatic training under Sincos engineering limited, the authorized trainer of Festo Didactic in Bangladesh. I have planned to take part in their PLC course as well. My next plan is to take part in an advanced automation course which includes a two-month training on PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD AND CNC.

I know my earlier grades arent that much outstanding enough but I really worked hard and obtained better grades in last 60 credits. I have a tendency to perform better after a failure, as manifested in my GRE scores. My first score was 312 only, but I knew I was capable of getting good marks, and just did so. Through my hard work, I managed to score 326 with a perfect score of 170 on the Quantitative section.

As I decided on pursuing postgraduate studies, I started spending hours finding a suitable varsity in accordance to my research interest. And I think ticks all the boxes for me. It has fantastic facilities, great faculties, and research labs like - making me excited thinking of the prospect of sharing my postgraduate journey with such great minds delving into such exciting problems. Given a chance, I believe I will be able to make notable impacts and meaningful contributions through my research, with providing me with a solid platform to work from.

I believe your highly esteemed university, with its high-end learning and research facilities, will be the best institution for my graduate studies. I also believe that learning under the guidance of the vastly experienced professors will be of immense benefit to me. If given a chance to pursue my doctorate dream, I will strive to excel in all my courses and graduate with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
