Nevertheless, the decision to control or not immigration should be informed by the reasons as to why people travel to other foreign countries. Historically, people moved different parts of the world to search for educational, job, health and recreational opportunities among other factors. However, continued negativity emerging from the abuse of immigrants in certain parts of the world explains why immigration should be controlled. It is on this background that this paper argues as to whether immigration should or not be controlled.

Even though cultural integration remains critical for societal development, the specific negative behavior may emanate from immigrants. The interactive nature of people would necessitate sharing of values which can portend a misfortune to the host country. Some cultures ideally remain backward and outdated to the extent that their continued existence and practice leads to underdevelopment despite the much-needed progress (Carens 51). Most immigrants from underdeveloped countries often practice a conservative-like culture which hinders active and critical thinking. Therefore, immigration should get controlled through various strategies that ensure sieving of individuals that enter a country. For instance, a country can develop immigration questions that aim at testing attitude and peoples' worldview before gaining entry.

Historically, the benefits of immigration remain lauded despite negative effects that it created in some nations. Some people secured jobs and education through movement to other states as opposed to their native countries (Porter n.p). Nevertheless, research suggests that immigration can cause serious harm to both the countries donating and receiving the immigrants. For instance, a donating country that is giving away a highly skilled individual may leave his or her nation without deserved professionals and leaders to champion developmental agendas in such jurisdictions. Similarly, the receiving nation can suffer job loss particularly in scenarios where it receives skilled workforce from a foreign state. The lowly skilled workers may lose their employment due to mass entry into the job markets despite continued shrinking of job avenues (Tichenor 165). It is on this premise that it would inform a reasoned consideration to control immigration.

Health remains a fundamental aspect of humanity and should get enjoyed by all without any hitch whatsoever. Some countries due to their developed nature possess state of the art health facilities that capably handle all kinds of infections and illnesses. Controlled immigration would negatively deny many patients across the world the opportunity of accessing medical interventions from the facilities of their preference. However, the same health concerns strongly suggest that immigration should get controlled. It can only get rational and considerable if one strives to prevent a disease rather than treating it all together. There exist certain infections that remain contagious and, therefore, movement of people should get restricted to avoid further transmission. Persons from countries that are affected by highly contiguous diseases like Ebola among other infections should never get access to foreign jurisdictions (Tichenor 161). Therefore, immigration should get controlled following a high prevalence of certain conditions like the ones above.

Despite the benefits of immigration attached to trade, movement of foreigners can potentially cause a massive loss for markets for local products. Most nations in Africa attest to the negative realities of free trade from China and some countries from Asia. Chinese in these countries take advantage of their economic influence to practice undesirable trade policies. The infrastructural development that China gives to underdeveloped countries continues to occur under the unbalanced scale of benefits. Further, cheap products from China make the locally produced products less competitive. The effects of loss for local market cause negativities to the economy of the involved nation (Carens 56). For instance, many countries where China and foreign developers operate continue to incur massive debts. Therefore, immigration should get controlled to realize that only movement of foreigners occurs diplomatically and procedurally.

While immigration stands to benefit country insecurity, the latest report indicates that the negative prospects of it continue to render it undesirable. It should be noted that immigration exposes visitors' into new order thinking in different levels of dealing with issues and challenges like insecurity (Porter n.p). However, the emergence of terror, money laundering and drug trafficking all get likened to uncontrolled immigration. For instance, undocumented foreigners take advantage of their anonymity to cause havoc and chaos in foreign lands before silently creeping back to their countries. America continues to suffer these threats with the occurrence of 11/9 attack, active shooting in different schools and colleges among other aspects of insecurity (Tichenor 168). Nevertheless, investigations point towards weaker control in immigration policy and laws. Therefore, immigration should get controlled if nations tare o remain secure and stable.

Finally, immigration should be controlled due to its disruptive tendency. Even though it contributes to the growth of a country's gross domestic product GDP through tourism and other viable ventures, immigration potentially causes loss of an original language and promotes adverse effects of liberal thinking. The rise in many variants of English attests to the fact that it continues to cause failure of the original language while it introduces certain varieties from the rest of the world. Also, it promotes liberty and autonomy whose effects hurt the globe as witnessed in rampant climate change and unprecedented environmental pollution. The unregulated tendencies of defiance from foreigners only destroy a region's climate as investors overexploit resources due to the ineptitude of the immigrants (Tichenor 167). Controlling immigration would reduce imminent threats from climate change and loss of original taste of a language as showcased therein.

In conclusion, people continue to argue for and against the control of immigration with each side presenting their reasons. For instance, some perceive it as a contributor to economic development through free trade, tourism, and health. However, it also portends negativities associated with terrorism, money laundering, reduced job prospects, and high prevalence transmission of contagious infections. It should be noted that immigration can cause the extinction of humanity if it is not controlled due to the high risks associated with its spread and practice. Stakeholders and countries should enact stiffer policies that aim at streamlining the movement of people from their nation to the other if any viable outcome should occur with it.
