Introduction

Assessing the culture of the team is essential since it helps in outlining the strengths, weakness, and opportunities available to the team. It generally involves looking at the issues relating to how the team of players shares certain values, beliefs, behavior, and attitudes. With specific attention to soccer, there are various ways of assessing the team culture. I would look for factors such as the interaction between the players themselves, the openness of the players with the technical staff, the team incentive programs and the player recruitment and retention information. For instance, a close check on a well-cultured team will reveal friendly and warm interactions among the players themselves and between the players and the technical leadership that will, in the long run, lead to the unity of purpose and common goals among them. There are also good incentive programs that encourage the players and all the staff, in general, to stretch their limits and finally good players and staff recruitment records promoted by the proper remuneration and great value according to each person's input and opinion.

At this point, the proposed changes will be met with resistance. I will also be polite in interactions with the players so that they develop the feeling that you are always there for them and finally be the credible leader they want by appointing qualified assistant and the team captains that inspire other players and, therefore, promote the team's winning culture.

Even if the team appears to be strong at this particular point, this does not guarantee that there are no weak spots in the team. First and foremost, the unity and the team spirit among the team members is very crucial and should always be checked. The players, the technical staff and the team fanatics must always be encouraged to look up to encourage each other towards the attainment of the team's goal of taking the title in the season. Meet up sessions and joint parties among the concerned parties must be enhanced to enable them to mingle around and discover each other's strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities so that they help in mentoring and supporting each other on and off the stadium. Secondly and most importantly, the fitness of the players is a key factor that must be maintained. This means an organization of more training sessions where the players need to be trained on enhancing their first touch of the ball, the ball control skills, the confident use of the weaker foot, and dribbling between very tight spaces. Out of the training sessions, the players need to be properly advised on their diet so that they maintain the fitness to play for the full times and even recover first in case of an injury. Finally, the players should be encouraged to have a fighting spirit through practice activities that aim at imparting endurance in the players by making it a habit of playing for the probable 90 minutes by each player, learn from the past mistakes and set achievable goals at a personal and team level before any competitive match.
