Introduction
What is Social Intelligence? It is considered to be the capacity of self-knowledge and others. According to community scientists, social Intelligence is a collected ration of a person and social consciousness, which has evolved attitudes, capacity, and the will to achieve compound change. However, psychologists agree that social Intelligence is what defines who we are as humans. This paper summarizes the instances of social Intelligence stated in the provided course work about daily life.
According to Serrat (Serrat,2017), two components of social Intelligence is social awareness and social facility. These components also have several subcategories.
Leadership requires socially intelligent leaders. A leader may have all the achievements and successes through his principles, qualities, and ideas. Social Intelligence is an acquired trait that grows with a person (Ang &Van, 2015). The interactions that pole has in their life may help in the development of a high level of social Intelligence. There are some tips that one may use to achieve social Intelligence. They include:
- Paying attention to other people. Research shows that being sensitive and listening to others may help in nurturing one's social Intelligence. Although there are people of different natures, that is, introverts and other extroverts. This suggestion may not change them but instead, give them good interpersonal relationships.
- Self-understanding. Before getting to understand other people and your environs, it is of great importance to know yourself better. How do you respond to situations? What is your take about others? Your opinion about things and so on.
- Communication skills. This skill is vital since it gives an idea of whether one is social or self-kept (introvert). It also shows how you relate with others, body language, and how one arranges and delivers his or her ideas.
- Conflict resolutions. To improve social Intelligence, one should establish healthy ways of conflict resolution. People have different opinions and feelings about everything around them and daily encounters, and this may easily trigger misunderstandings. It may also cause relationships to end.
- Empathy. Research shows that understanding is indispensable to establishing healthy relationships and improving social Intelligence. Showing compassion makes others feel loved, accepted, and cared for; hence, they are bound to be free and open-minded to share their issues and also ideas.
- Invest in relationships. For relationships to last, one must be ready to sacrifice and invest. It is easy to acquire contacts than to maintain since there are a lot of shortcomings in the process of building solid relationships (Ashton et al. 2018). Good social Intelligence and emotional Intelligence are bound to give a positive impact on employees' characters. They may have positive attitudes towards their work, job satisfaction, self-efficacy, leadership potential, self-belief in their efforts and results, and transformation handling. When different people of different upbringings unite, innovation and creativity come about. In a diverse place such as in South Africa, social Intellect of staff is associated with the degree to which employees can operate in an ethnically diverse atmosphere.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my view of social intelligent is closely related to emotional Intelligence. It, therefore, necessary for everyone to develop it to improve their social interactions in society. It also gives us an idea of life and how we can figure out things and make them work. We all are imperfect in a way but strive to excellence.
