Dropping of atomic bombs on Japan by the US had some importance that included a way of ending the war and being recognized as a world super powerful nation. It was seen that the dropping of the bomb by the United States of America was a significant factor since it was a way of ending the war without causing casualties among the nations involved in the war.
Also, it helped the United States of America to show that it was a super powerful nation as compared to other nations. This made Japan surrender its military army from the war following the orders from their leader after they had realized that they were fighting using inferior weapons, unlike the United States of America who used superior weapons (Baxter et al. 2014).
Furthermore, the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan was useful to the US since it helped them in counteracting the war that had brought loss of lives by the Japanese people. The Japanese military army led by their leader could not easily surrender, and yet the people were undergoing suffering and loss of lives. The assertion of Truman was witnessed in Japan when the United States of America had dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
General Douglas MacArthur together with the top military commanders played an important role in advising his colleague Truman to prevent any other atomic bombs on Japan. According to General Douglas MacArthur, further droppings could cause more loss of lives. Together with the military, they advised Truman that further droppings could have some radiation effects which could result in disorders such as gene mutations (Baxter, 2014).
The secretary of war Henry Stimson played a major role in in the dropping of the atomic bomb by suggesting that it was a way of the rapid ending of the war that could reduce the loss of lives. Manhattan project of scientists did research in Nazi Germany where there was the production of atomic weapons. Through that, it enabled the United States to run out its own program of the production of atomic weapons.
