Introduction

Bones form a crucial part of the human body. They give support to our bodies and also help in the formation of our shape. They are also meant to support the entire human weight. In another function, they help protect body organs. For instance, the skull is meant to protect the brain while at the same time, forming the shape of the human face. Similarly, the spinal cord is a pathway for transmitting information from the mind to the rest of the brain is protected from damage by the backbone. More so, ribs create a cage whose function is to shelter the lungs and the heart while the pelvis helps guard a part of the intestines and the bladder.

The muscle is a soft tissue in the body of animals. Individual muscle cells possess protein filaments made up of myosin and actin, which slide over one another to produce a contraction that alters the shape and the length of the cell.

Muscles can change or maintain a specific posture, facilitate locomotion as well as control the movement of the body's internal organs such as the heart. Ligaments are fibrous tissues which serve to connect bones. Tendons and ligaments are very similar since both of them are made up of connective tissues. However, they possess different roles whereby ligaments serve to connect one bone to another. Ligaments connect bones in a relaxed but firm manner, thus allowing room for free movement while tendons connect muscles to the bone.

Ligaments are a crucial part of the body because they are a formed by a muscular fibrous tissue capable of holding bones together to facilitate motion after the contraction and expansion of muscles. Ligaments have to be taken care of to maintain proper functioning of the body since their tear can cause a significant injury sometimes even requiring surgery to heal.

Bone joints, muscles, and ligaments are a crucial aspect in our body which needs protection to maintain a good health. First, it is essential to protect our bones since they offer organ protection. The skull, for instance, protects our brain from injuries in situations where there is a significant impact on our heads. Torso muscles also protect internal organs in the back, front, and side of the body. The backbone and ribs also offer more protection for various internal organs. Thus, it is vital to protect our bones to maintain healthy internal organs.

Body stability is highly dependent on healthy bone joints, muscle, and ligaments. Healthy joints help maintain a stable posture. Muscles cannot hold firmly on the bones when the tendons are injured. Therefore, it brings about irregular movements as the muscles contract and expands over one another to cause movement. Such irregularities may cause a person to limb while walking due to the pain generated by the irregular movements.

Similarly, ligaments are a critical structure of the body since it provides structural support to the joints. Ligament injuries occur as a result of acute and repetitive traumas. Once a ligament is injured, it cannot afford the needed support. Therefore, it results to abnormal pressure applied to the specific joint. Consequently, cartilage degeneration occurs triggering pain and restricting normal range of motion.

Facilitating free and easy mobility also depends on proper health of the joints. The primary function of the muscle system around the joint is to promote both gross and subtle movements. Gross movements refer to activities such as running, walking, or swimming, while subtle motion denotes to simple actions, including writing and speaking. Damage to the joint system causes discomfort depending on the magnitude of the damage. The resulting pain from a joint injury limits the free motion of the joint, making it difficult for a person to perform some movements, or in extreme cases, making it impossible to move. For instance, a knee-joint injury results to complication to other joints located in other parts of the body because the joint collectively works together to support the body weight. The injury results with abnormal amounts of pressure applied on the joint and consequently doubling depending on the weight support, and thus limiting free movement.

Maintaining body strength and effective performance depends heavily on the health of bone joints, muscles, and ligaments. The power of a body, as well as its effective functioning, relies heavily on coordination. In this case, the bone joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons have to be in good health to provide maximum coordination. For instance, bodybuilders often require strong and firm joints to lift heavy loads. Utmost caution is observed during heavy lifting since it could lead to a muscle tear, breaking of the bone or dislocation. The occurrence of these accidents implies that the body of the individual cannot coordinate appropriately due to immense pain originating from the body. Thus, maintaining the excellent health of the bone joint, muscles, and ligaments are crucial in the maintenance of coordination.
