Any form of vice in any given society has its adverse impact on individual that is directed towards. As such, cyber bullying has some of the ultimate harmful effects especially to kids. One of the consequences of cyber bullying is that it alters the personality of the victim. Cyber bullying can lead to individuals who are self-confident and happy to become fearful and hesitant. Furthermore, people might become depressed, and their confidence disappears entirely something that keeps them off trying new things in life. The moment a person has been bullied, they falter to take part in conditions where he or she might be mocked, for instance, in sports (Mishna et al.).

Cyclical is another consequences of cyberbullying as people who have been bullied try to gain power and confidence back, and begin bullying other. If this bullies who are not opposed earlier, they find themselves in future positions where they can bully as adults. Academically, bullying has led to increasing rate of school dropout among school kids. Children tend to skip classes to avoid being bullied and hence their education life in ruined in the process. Moreover, the performance of the student tends to drop as they have no interest in their studies. The evidence further shows that youth who penetrate cyber bullying are likely to participate in rule breaking simultaneously and have problems with aggression (Eriksen et al.).

Causes of Cyber Bullying

Cyberbullying takes place 24/7 and youth that are mostly targeted can be reached any time since they are online. Some causes have been identified that results in cyber bullying. Firstly, cyber bullying is as a result of individuals who were once bullied and therefore want to do the same to others. Secondly, some youth belief that other deserve to be bullied and this is high experienced in kids (Eriksen et al.). For example, a certain kid thought to be mean to other, other might be bullied due to her or her due to her meanness.

Sometimes, youth do it to help bolster of remind others of their social standing. Some kids want to be recognized that they exist and the only way to do this is to bully other. Furthermore, kids bully other because of boredom. The always think that when they bully others, it helps them from boredom. Lastly, individuals bully other to boost their ego (Eriksen et al.).

Conclusively, bullying has become one of the most active criminal activity among kids and youths. Nonetheless, due to the increasing advancement in technology, it is challenging when it comes to handling the issue of cyber-crime. Additionally, it is not easy to find out the exact number of cases of cyber bullying considering that most of the victims do not report to parents or teachers.
