The most important facet of filmmaking to me as a director is to ensure coordination and great teamwork during all the stages of filmmaking and production. Creating a cohesive team ensures that the intended result expected for the initial idea and story line is met on time and in good quality that would impress the target audience. For best results to be achieved during filmmaking and directing, several values, therefore, need to be adhered to, some of which include originality and social responsibility.

Being a director, it's of utmost importance that I maintain high integrity level and value system during film production to ensure that the film meets the required set standards and is still able to pass the main theme across to the audience. Maintaining originality ensures that the main idea or story line of the film is not an idea that has been borrowed from other works but a unique theme that the audience can positively resonate with. Originality ensures that the film arouses interest from the target audience. Social responsibility is also top on my value list as a director while determining the idea to be screened to the viewers. A good film is one that communicates with the viewers and instills positive teachings or warnings. A film that results in the infliction of undesired characteristics to the viewers is usually considered to have gone against the social responsibility principle of filmmaking and production.

My idea of filmmaking as a director would be to direct a film that has a story line that is of general interest to most viewers such as life's challenges, emotions or relationships. Films that are well received by the viewers constitute those that identify with what the viewers are currently going through or have experienced in the past. While watching a film, viewers need to feel as if they are part of it by connecting with the main theme of the cast.

Since films are produced to be consumed by the viewers, it is, therefore, paramount for me as the person who bears the responsibility for ensuring the desired outcome is achieved to put various factors that relate to the script and the audience into consideration. Some of these include but are not limited to the economic, social and technological aspects of the film. The film should be economical concerning its budget to prevent extra production costs from being passed on to the viewers. This ensures that a large pool of viewers can access the film. Of importance also is to ensure that social values are maintained during communication of the film's ideas to the audience. A film should be produced in such a way that it will leave the audience morally upright even after watching it. Regarding technology, a film should follow the proper technological guidelines but at the same time be mindful of the impact that this will have on their target audience. Films should, therefore, be made available through technologies that are readily accessible to the viewers. Easy and fast accessibility means increased viewer base which is always the film director's expectation of the film that they produce.
