1) The two major theories of international relations are realism and liberalism. Liberalism asserts that work only increases their own power that is relative to the states. According to this theory, the world is a harsh place and the only thing that is certain in the world is power. It is also believed that the primary objective of any state is self preservation and that it is the international system that drives the states in implementing the military force that is used in cases of the war. There is also realism that asserts that the states only operate when its powers increases in other states. Realism also states that the world is harsh and also dangerous at the same time. It is also evident that the military power is not the form of power, but it is also the economic and the social power that has a great deal. For instance the relationship among the main Western powers all fit in a model of complex interdependence.
