The purpose of this article is to assist the human resource department to develop work policies and start initiatives that will impact positively on lives of their workforce. These policies and initiatives are aimed at motivating and encouraging the workforce to continue to work towards achieving the company set goals and targets. This article also gives an insight of how to best improve employee recruitment and retention so as to enhance the productivity of the enterprise. This article also provides important insight on how to best improve leadership skills in the workforce so as to improve employee empowerment within the company.
The author of this article has employed various design methodologies to explore the experiences of the participant who took part in the leadership program. The first approach that used was the use of quantitative methods to analyze self-assessment of the members who participated in the leadership experiment program. Qualitative methods were also used to analyze the type of tasks that participants engaged in during the leadership test.
It was noted that after the experiment all the participants involved reported a significant increase in satisfaction and performance level in both their fields of work and personal life. The participants claimed that the experiment had opened their eyes to new ways and ideas in which they could improve their team management skills to new heights. They also felt that they had found new ways to balance their office work and family obligations. This is because a majority of them reported significant increases in performance in home and self-domains. There was also good reports from the work and community domains of the participants which implies that the EI had a significant and positive impact on their personal lives and career. Furthermore, nine types of experiments which were used to enhance performance in in all life domains were identified by the author. These tests included: Tracking and reflecting which urged the participants to keep diaries. Planning and organizing which called for the members to create a to-do list. Rejuvenating and restoring which encouraged the employees to tend to their body, mind, and spirit. Appreciating and caring which emphasized on the need of team building excursions. Focusing and concentrating which entailed removing distractions so as to ensure that they remain focused on their goals. Revealing and engaging which emphasized the importance of communication. Time-shifting and replacing which encouraged the participants to be open to doing things differently. Delegating and developing which urged leaders to learn how to delegate duties to others and lastly exploring and venturing which encouraged the participants to be ready to embrace innovation.
This experiment that was conducted was beneficial to the delegates, however, since the tests were carried out like an academic course it would be incorrect to assume that all the findings and results would replicate themselves in the corporate world. This is because there are a lot of external factors that affect the work and personal lives of employees. None the less this experiment was able to improve the lives of the participants who took part in it. This journal report will also be able to do the same to the employees who will take their time to go through it since it also has informative insights which can improve the lives of many in the field of business.
