One of the requirements in the human resource field that is being considered is equal employment for everyone, according to the standards of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. There are certain rules which guide the employment sector and ought to be followed if equal employment to be achieved. Among the major factors that bring about unemployment are racism and homelessness. This can be seen even in some of the questions that are normally being asked in interviews and can be justified not to be right. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the employment discrimination against the homeless and give reaction to some questions normally asked in interviews which are not correct according to the Equal Employment Commission.

In the questions that were selected, some of them did not agree with the rules and the regulations of EEC. The first question to start with was not correct. Asking an interviewee if they can be addressed by their first name is not correct. The first reason is that it brings about racism. This is because, the motive of one using the first name is to reaffirm and remind one his or her race and therefore, bring about s feeling of intimidation where the employee feels they don't belong.

Asking about whether to use the first name is a psychological thing which is meant to alert the employee the organization minds the race they come from. This, therefore, may make one lose the confidence of the job since it would appear as though it belonged to particular races. According to the Equal Employment Commission, racism should not be a factor to be considered in employment since the central goal is to bring about justice and equality.

The other question which did not follow the rules of EEC was the question on nationality whether the person was a citizen of the United States. By virtue that the individual is the country, they deserve to get employment and not to be employed due to their country of origin. The lawful thing to be done under this is just to find out if the individual is legally in the country.

The other question that did not conquer with EEC was the question on religious beliefs. No one should be employed based on religious beliefs since they do not determine the ability of the person to perform the work. The requirements of EEC are that everyone should be treated equally irrespective of the religion which they subscribe to.

Another question which was not according to the requirements of EEC was the question on age if the person is of age fifty-two. The rules and regulation of EEC protect employees who are of the age above forty since they are the ones who are the most discriminated against by the young generation. They are seen less productive, and the age factor is used mostly to eliminate jobs that they could have done even better.

The last question that was incorrect according to EEC was the question of genetic information when asked of a family history of a certain disease. Some of these dig deeper into the personal information which should be left to be liberty of the employee to give the information that they feel free to share. The furthest one can go to just ask about their health status and especially if the job description would require, for example, the military. The detail of the health issues will then left to the employee to share the much they can, to the extent to which they believe is the essential information to the organization.

Together with the rules and regulations of the Equal Employment Opportunities, other campaigns have been formed to fight against other factors that affect employment in the United States of America. The Ban the Address campaign was designed, under the legal regulation of the United States to fight against the issue of discrimination at workplace especially when it comes to employment (Gobalek S, & Wishnie, 2016). Numerous cases have been witnessed with people who are homeless where a home address is requested in the application of jobs, a requirement that the homeless people do not have.

The issue of homelessness has been of great debates. Often, when people go for interviews, they are requested for their addresses. Therefore, those who do not have home addresses often become disadvantaged. Some people may be homeless due to their history and therefore, do not deserve this.

This issue has also brought about discrimination when it comes to employment, where those who do not have addresses are denied the equal opportunity. The gap between the rich and the poor continues to increase. A majority of the people who do not have addresses are those who probably had poor backgrounds, and while they are struggling to rise, they face these challenges. Some, therefore, resort to other methods of survival like social ills and society continues to become a bad day in and day out.

There are several measures which can be put in place to combat this issue. The first thing is that the advocates who are for this stand are to look for strategies of enabling people to understand the purpose of this whole idea. The people who will be the most essential are the victims of the circumstances. They can give testimonials of their experiences in a bid to fight against this type of discrimination.

The media can also play an important role in spreading this message. The testimonials would be even more effective through the media. The bid for it is to give the labor force departments of the federal government alternatives of how they can reduce these to bring about equality. This can be done through TV shows or the media to showcase the campaigns of the BAN THE ADDRESS campaign and other campaigns which are likely to support this issue.

One of the ways is the use of the private sector to absorb these people and the government to also absorb them. The government can pass the legal measure, for example, to provide these people with temporary addresses, especially those who are eligible for employment. The government should understand that not everyone has a home, and if development I to be realized in the country, then the wellbeing of everyone should be put into consideration.

The essence of this entire struggle is the fact that homeless individuals undergo several struggles, such as transportation charges, proper healthcare, and educational challenges. If these groups of people are denied access to proper employment, the state will not be helping their situation. Some of them resort to substance use due to frustration, and in doing this; they are deteriorating their condition even further to worse than they already have been.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the issue of equal employment is essential in the country due to several factors. First of all, the rules and regulations under the EEC are to be followed since it protects against any sort of discrimination. The organization should, therefore, incorporate and legislate the giving of homeless people temporary addresses or any identification materials that will put them in a position where they can access the jobs without the limitation of being homeless. By doing so, the government will be helping bring about a balance by allowing the low-level people to secure sources of income and therefore aid in the development of the country at large and promote equality o everyone.
