Whether formal or informal, education is essential in bringing the best out of somebody and the community at large.

Benefits of the Education.

Education is significant in the growth of the countrys economy. Formal education plays a crucial role in facilitating the growth of the economy of the nation due to the economic knowledge it imparts to the learners. While at school, students are taught on various ways of becoming a professional in the job markets (Jamison and Woessmann 3). As they continue their education, students will be aiming at a definite goal of becoming a professional in a particular field. Some of these fields include medicine, venture markets, corporate world, sports, banking industry, and other fields that are essential in steering the countrys economic growth. Apparently, the economy of the nation as well as global economy is dependent on different expertise and professionals, who are integral when it comes to facilitating the completion of the process of production.

A more direct measure of a countrys human capital is the performance of students on tests in math and science (Jamison and Woessmann 3). Math and science are core disciplines in the education that can help in molding a learner into a useful member of the society as far economic development is concerned. For a nation to develop economically, there is the need of coming up with various inventions and innovations to counter different challenges that are present in the society. This implies that the teaching of disciplines such as math and other forms of science, not only at a high level but also in the elementary levels can be essential in encouraging innovations and inventions (Jamison and Woessmann 3). For instance, education enables individuals to acquire knowledge and skills that can help them become top managers and executives in various businesses. Through education, learners can also achieve essential entrepreneurial skills. All these educational achievements can be utilized in the production process to improve the productivity levels of a country.

Through education, individuals are able to come up with multiple inventions that have since improved the living standards of people as well as bringing the wanted comfort in the lives of human beings. For instance, education facilitated various inventions and innovations in the transport and communication fields, medicine, food production, agriculture, housing and architecture and information technology. All these inventions have been critical in transforming the lives of the individuals (Mitra 6). Improvement in the technological tools such as handheld devices (mobile phones) has significantly facilitated the communication process. In the absentia of phones and other current communication tools such emails, people used letters to communicate to each other. However, people can communicate to each other irrespective of the distance separating them. Such achievement and breakthroughs in various fields have been enhanced by education.

Education increases the chances of an individuals employment. High school dropouts are more than twice as likely to be unemployed (Mitra 7). Such statistics are relevant not only in the United States but also in various parts of the globe. Education enables people to achieve a set of skills and knowledge that is readily required in the job market. For instance, by pursuing studies in Medicine, one improves odds of being employed as a doctor or medical practitioner in a given capacity. With the rightful formal education in management and leadership, an individual can be employed in the corporate world to function in different job descriptions. It follows that education enables people to become experts and professionals in different areas of production. This gives them a chance to be employed, hence bettering their lives.

Another benefit of education is depicted in its usefulness in combating crime. It is apparent that education avails the society with appropriate opportunities that can be essential in the reduction of crime in the community. Formal and informal education is forefront in providing the learners with an acceptable set of skills, knowledge, and values that mold them to fit the standards set (Mitra 13). It follows that children at the elementary schools will be taught on the need of adopting skills and characters that can bar them from engaging in criminal activities. Crime remains to be a critical issue in the current society. The public is compelled to bear the brunt of crime in the society though costs incurred in the process of combatting crime as well as dealing with its actions. There is the need of embracing education as the tool that can help in crime reduction in the society.

Educational is also beneficial in ones health. It is asserted that individuals with higher levels of education have higher chances of living longer as compared to people with limited education or inadequate knowledge and skills on health education. Through education, people are taught on various ways of leading a healthy life (Mitra 13). For instance, in the formal education and informal education, there is a lot of teachings on preventing and dealing with pandemic diseases and conditions such as HIV/AIDs, Ebola, Bird Flu and other diseases that are considered to be disastrous in their treatment and containment. The awareness on such diseases is greatly improved through education. Health education also teaches individuals to shun unhealthy lifestyles such as alcoholism, drug abuse and others forms of addiction. People with more education are more likely to have healthy diets and exercise frequently, and are less likely to smoke, be obese, or engage in binge drinking (Mitra 17). By leading a healthy lifestyle, individuals are likely to extend their lifespans as compared to individuals with limited knowledge and skills in health education.

Education is also essential in ones social development. It is only through education that people from diverse backgrounds are unified through the knowledge, skills and the values they acquire through learning. Social development is considered to be a vital component when it comes to human development. There are various facets that can attest social development in an individual. These indicators of social nourishment include: Health, safety, being empowered and security (Venkatraja and Indira 3). These social dimensions are mainly achieved through social interactions by people from different backgrounds as far as their ethnicity, race, and cultural aspects are concerned. These features are emphasized in education.

Through education, a person is exposed to the outside world. When an individual is born, he/she is exposed to the local social environment which is likely to define his attitudes and perceptions. With limited access to the outside knowledge, such individual will be unable to embrace any other perception beyond what he/she has been exposed to in the native community (Venkatraja and Indira 3). However, education gives a person a chance to meet and interact with new people at the learning centers which is critical in exposing an individual to the diverse world. This is essential in ones social development.

It is apparent that education is beneficial not only on the personal level but to the community at large. The great achievements in various fundamental fields such as medicine, leadership, industries, transport, and communication have been significantly improved by education. This implies that the importance of education in the society cannot be overlooked due to the critical role it plays for the wellbeing of the people and the whole community. Education is, therefore, beneficial and needs to be given much consideration during the national budgeting and planning.
