John Smith was accused of making lies about his experiences with the new world. He also got into problems with the colonists and was later arrested. After his arrest he was charged with mutiny, however, when they got to Virginia, he was set free since he was branded the title of one of the new colony leaders. John Smith is presented to have got into conflicts with the leaders because of the different rules which were created in London. This shows that the community is part of the concepts that are found in the book. The community concept of John Smith is based on the political considerations whereby; John Smith was more concerned about making better improvements on the political system that existed in Virginia and England. He wanted a better political system that could make better lives for the people and also see them of importance by valuing their claims. Additionally, the concept of community is believed to have been facilitated by politics since John Smith did not believe in the new rules which have been created by other leaders. This also shows the ideological between Smith and the other leaders he met while in London. Some historians have indicated the differences which were shown by John Smith and other leaders in a negative way.

Most of the historians believe that John Smith could have accelerated his thoughts to present him as a better person more than the work he did. However, many historians believe in the works of John Smith like creating the American settlement. These historians support their support for John Smith when they state that, during the first year of the colony times, life was full of challenges since his settlement was always attacked by other people such as Indians. During these attacks, there was no food for the people. He, therefore, fought back since he had military techniques. When he realized of the differences which he had with other leaders, Smith is thought to have left Jamestown for more than one year. When John Smith came back, he was elected as the leader of the council since there bad governance had been promoted by the leaders who took charge when he left.

As the play confusing, the concept of John Smith which was facilitated by politics is seen to have changed. He begins to develop the concept of community. His love and care for the community are indicated when he encouraged the people of the community to work hard to get food. He stated this is his quote "He who does not work will not eat".p7. Many of the wars which took place at the time when he had left Jamestown is one of the major reasons why John Smith is thought to have returned. The book also indicates that, at one point, John Smith was seized by the Indians, but the leader of the Indians by the name Powhatan was enthralled because of confidence which John Smith showed and the equipment which he had carried with him at the time of his capture. He stays with the Indians yielded a good relationship between him and the Indians since he was given the opportunity to become the chief of the Indians.

The concept of community is also indicated in the story when John Smith is presented to have condemned slavery. John Smith did not want people to be slaves, and instead, he wanted them to be free and work for themselves. Additionally, when he was given money, he did not use it since he was not money hungry but instead offered the money to the colonists. His love for the community is also seen when John Smith developed forts where the people he leads could live and also collect food. This method of leadership was later copied by other leaders who saw it as a better way of caring for the people. John Smith also made a good relationship with the Indians for the sake of the community. He did this by bargaining with the Indians whereby he traded corn with them. This shows that he did not become weak to the Indians but was strong and determined to lead the people. His involvement with the Indians who at one point has attacked the colonies showed that he cared for everybody despite their origin. He did not severely punish thieves neither did him practice racism on the people. Another form of contradiction has also been indicated in the boom when other historians state that John Smith should have provided evidence for his skills which he talks much about in the book. For example, these historians who contradict his concept state that, when he was given the leadership role in India he had abandoned his people. Additionally, he failed to out into writing more about his time with the Indians. However, John Smith may have failed to out into writing more of his activities with the Indians because he did not see them to be of significance.

Conclusion

It has been indicated in the book that, the concept of community is used for positive reasons. For example, John Smith got into a good relationship with Indians so that he could get food from them to help his people survive. This shows that he was much concerned about his people than the previous leaders who were known to be racists and self-centered. His concept of the community has also been used as a form of educative strategy which shows the importance of unity between different societies. Additionally, his concept of community reveals his leadership strengths since he was elected leader in various places which were not his homeland.
