The movement of people across national borders affects a country in a negative or positive side. The movement of people across one state to another is referred to as immigration. Immigration has become one of the big issue that most of the country in the world are trying to find a solution against it, moreover, the migrants who visolates the laws of immigration of the destination of the country. Most of the immigration involves crossing borders through air, land and water inappropriately. However, it can also be entrance to a foreign country in the right way but refusing to renew a visa after expiration or refusing to leave the country. This is referred to as illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants in most of the countries are referred to as aliens.

Illegal immigrations in the other hand can be seen as a double edged sword. It poses both negative and positive effects to the country of illegal immigration and well as on the illegal immigrant. There are various reasons why people tend to migrate to other countries. For instance most of illegal migrant in the United States have two most popular way of entering the state. The first is through expired visas, and the other is through the U.S Mexico border. Most of this migrants are from Africa, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Where a large number of immigrants have settled in relation to others the effect is felt.

Illegal immigration has various impact to the live of native people and the nation in different ways depending on their social interest and status. There also many reasons as to why someone want to migrant to another country. Most of them migrate to find opportunities and freedom. In the United States, a lot of work are offered to anyone and people from other countries believe moving to United States will provide them with a good paying job. In the 17th century, foreigners would immigrate to America to find food and resources to survive. In this paper I will look at both cons and pros of illegal migration.

Firstly, illegal immigrants are engaged in criminal acts which lead to high crime rates in the country. Most of this crime rates associated with illegal immigrants are dealing with illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and heroin. There is also stealing of identities. When the United States government introduced a law in 1986, demanding that employers not to hire illegal immigrant. The illegal migrants started stealing identifications and social security documents to the American citizens so as to enable the acquire jobs. Those who manage to steal this documents uses them to try to acquire permanent residency and other benefits that are for U.S citizens only. Stealing of this documents has accelerated last couple of years due to advancement in technology. Through the internet for instance you can access personal information of a person that without her permission. Most of this crime committed by illegal immigrants are not reported to the authority.

There are more than 10 million undocumented workers in America. Most of illegal migrants are concentrated in Texas and California, though their presence are felt all over the country. Three quarters of these illegal immigrants are hired with no undocumented documents by the US employer. This is done mainly because the illegal immigrants can be hired at a pay less. Most of these workers are not given any benefits or health care. Most of these jobs are illegally opened by the US employers in order to save huge amount of taxes. It is for this reason that the government acquires losses due to lack of proper taxes due to the illegal immigrants.

When the illegal migrants utilize the social services, the government bears the cost. Most of the illegal migrants rely deeply on the government social services like schools. They do not utilize other government like the health insurance. This is mainly due to poverty and low standard of living avoiding a trail that legal authorities to follow. This mostly leads to loss of lives in case of accidents, (Smith, Edmonston 6).

There is high competition of work between the citizen of the country and the illegal immigrants. This competition usually happen because the illegal immigrants is willing to accept any amount of the money offered by the employer and without asking for other benefits such as insurance. Another thing is that an illegal immigrant accept to do any type of job that a citizen cant do or they are unwilling to do. Its because of this reason that the economy depends on them much over than the citizens themselves. The result to the citizens are negative mainly because the employer prefer to hire someone without insurance coverage and with low payment so as he can make a lot of profit.

Some parts of a country becomes very dangerous place to stay due to high number of illegal immigrants. Most of this parts are considered unsafe due to the damages that illegal migrants course. Some of this are damages of people properties in their homes and public areas. Breaking into peoples houses, stealing properties, vandalize in public areas and as they passes through a territory they cut fences. The government and farmers have to repair this fences at a high price. Houses, vehicles and other property are vandalized by illegal immigrant. This becomes stressing and difficulty for people to work or live in some areas. This also leads to lack tourist attraction and employees not accepting jobs in such areas.

The government do not feel safe also in this places as they carry their field work. This increases government expenditure hence they will be forced to employ more government official such as police. Some of the illegal immigrants poses a threat to the cops when they are being arrested or chased. The government has tried to dealing with the aliens by adding grills into building, use of safe and dogs but it has not worked in many countries. The illegal immigrant also harass people living in borders for food, water, shelter and medical supplies.

In the United States border, some parts are remote. This remote places are used by illegal immigrants to smuggle people and bad substances in and out the country. In a year, about 50,000 people are smuggled most of them being from Soviet Union and Asia. Most of the people being smuggled are children and women. Their indication documents are taken by those who smuggle them and still most of them have no documents and their end up being exploited. There are mainly used to do hard work with a little pay or no pay or there are used as slaves, (Miko, Park 6). Most of the children are sold to the people who want to adopt them at a cheap price or to those who cant stand the process of legal adoption.

Most of the illegal migrant end up being critically ill or even die or seriously injured on transit. This happens mainly due to harsh conditions since they travel through isolated areas so as to avoid the authority due to lack of legal documentation. They suffer from lack of water, food, medicine and other supplies. Most of the illegal immigrants get deceived by the coyotes who made a promise to get them safe in the country and they end up being dumped in undesignated areas such as forests or deserts (Howell 2006). Often many of illegal immigrants travel in vehicles that are crowded and may be mechanically defective. They stand a chance of being sexually abused, robbed or violently assaulted and they may end up as a vessel of transporting illegal substances in the country.

A percentage of most illegal immigrants are said to be highly skilled labor and they help increase the economy of the country. When the employers pay the lower than the minimum wage, the cost go down. This means that the prices of commodity as well as the production cost goes down and this leads to advantage of the country. Most of the immigrants tends to send money to their home origin to their family members and it helps to strengthen the value of the money making it more of use and of value therefore making the economy of the country stronger.

Most of the countries like in the United States the economy depend on illegal immigrants. This is because most of them do work that an American is not willing to do or is hard for him handle. Most of the immigrants does a lot of work and end up doing more than one job. This helps the country significantly to the impact of gross domestic product. The illegal migrants are willing to move to different location as demanded by the labor market making them suitable for the labor market sector. Lack of illegal migrants in the labor sector the sector will reduce by five percent and ten percent low skilled U.S, (Hanson 20). This will lead to increase of prices of services and goods, moreover the decrease of income of employers.

Due to lack of proper medical checkup, the illegal migrants end up carrying diseases into the country. In the western countries for instance the countries has made a big milestone in the health sector. Most of the vaccines have being found and there is improved medical conditions, (Lutton12). In 1980 the attorney general of the United States requested the lowering of the heath standard Immigration and nationally act. This move led to large number of illegal migrants into the United States. This brought the re-introduction of diseases mostly found in third world country as many of the aliens got access to borders without being carefully medically examined first

A lot of money and time has been spent in protecting and manning borders, especially the U.S-Mexico border. According to (Hanson 3, 10). The immigrants from this country increased from five to twelve million. This lead to tightening of security measures by adding up more border patrols. In 1990 and 2005 the time spent patrolling the border increased by almost two and half time. More revenue was used to beef up security and construct fences. This lead to increase in government finance budget.

Illegal immigrates impact the country also in the voting or choosing of leaders. They have an impact on the political landscape. They are able to affect election or influence the voting patterns .illegal immigrants can be used in the process of voting and thus affecting the voting results .It has been proving that they can easily register as voters and participate in choosing leaders hence this influence election result. According to (Smith, Edmonton 3), this is one of the factors that lead the United States congress to establish a commission on immigration reform.

Illegal immigrants has caused damage of natural resources and forest due to wild fires. Various wild fires that occur has been caused by them, they carelessly lit the fire and leave it as they move about. Such incidence has happened in different places such as the Miller Peak Fire in 1994 at Coronado National forest that could have been caused by such incidence. The fire department spent more than five hundred hours trying to put it off. A lot of resources was used and others destroyed due to this illegal immigrants.

Most of the trash like plastic bag, back packs, food remains containers and clothing are left behind this aliens. Some of them do not care about it. This has serious impact on the land and vegetation. When the rain falls the trash is washed into water catchment areas creating pollution. This can affect the animals health and human being due to the spread of bacteria and viruses. Some of this waste causes death when taken by domestic such as cattles and also wildlife animals. Aliens have also affected several groups in the country such as farmers. They impact cultural, natural, and moreover the land and human resources.
