Immigration laws are legislated to protect Americans while putting less emphasis on the lives of immigrants. In this article, the authors explore the impact of the activities of immigration enforcement on the well-being of children. Children are the one who is greatly affected by immigration laws more than parents. Children still have development stages in their lives and encounter with immigration officers at an early age can affect their development in the future. The article fits my research as it provides a perspective on how these laws affect the wellbeing of children. It will further guide the development of recommendations that can be used to improve the current practice.

When children are separated from their parents, they suffer psychologically, and these effects can extend to their adult life. The article will enrich my research since it is recent and tackles one of the issues associated with immigration policies. Besides, it explores how families suffer especially children who are separated from their parents.

Even though there have been efforts to legalize their stay in America, issues that touch on national security has seen families being raided in fear that they might be coordinating terrorist activities. Besides, families have been subjected to detention and in other cases, deportation. These acts affect the emotional wellbeing of families. The article will be a quality addition for this research as it will provide a perspective of how undocumented immigrants are treated in the hands of authorities.

Family reunification is one of the things that immigrants wish to be established in the law. However, these laws can be reversed meaning that immigrants still find it challenging to enter America without any hurdles. The article provides a historical background of immigration laws and the significant reforms that have been made to improve the experiences of immigrant families.

The enforcement of immigration laws has put the status of mixed-status families at risk. The author of this article explores the status of mixed-families on access to healthcare and other social services. The article addresses explicitly how immigration laws have marginalized children and youths are they are seen as a threat to America. The article will enrich my research as it will provide a perspective on how families are affected by immigration laws through the denial of health services. It will further explore how these laws discriminate against mixed-families.
