I am applying to pursue a master program in Organizational Design and Development for the fall 2018- semester. After successful completion of an undergraduate degree in the named course above, I am currently working in the Customer Service Field. The knowledge gained from taking the Organizational Design and Development program would provide the opportunity to employ a different logic. One that would be beneficial in looking at a new approach to better harness the collective creativity of our employees to drive continuous business improvement, and better position us to become more customer-centric.

I have chosen to apply for the Master Programme in Organizational Design and Development because I strongly believe that pursuing a graduate certificate in Organizational Design and Development from Royal Roads University aligns well with my recent change in employment. I am currently employed at Seneca College as the Manager of Customer Service, which is a new role within my organization. Besides, I have outlined some of my roles and responsibilities; there is an opportunity to refine further my role based on current institutional priorities, vision, and strategic plan. Besides, it is more than understandable for people to resist change, but for us to realize our institutional goals - change is necessary. It is imperative that a plan is implemented to ensure individuals within my organization understand the need for change, the desired outcome and actively participate in this change. Moreover, we have identified areas within our organization where we can benefit from a change in business process, and having a solid framework in place around organizational design would prove extremely beneficial.

In addition, I also believe that my enrollment in such a program will enable me to acquire the necessary skills to champion the required change within my organization. I chose a career in education as I have a strong affinity to fact-finding, my curiosity and open-mindedness lend well to working in-group settings where I will share my knowledge and experiences with my peers. As I continue to navigate the path toward enhancing and delivering excellence in customer service, it will require me to take a closer look at how we are impacting students.

Lastly, I have to say that I have a moral obligation to myself to ensure my core values of efficiency, innovation, compassion, integrity, and service to others align with my professional goal to bring awareness to the benefits of holding customer experience with high regard. As Mary Douglas once said, "If you want to change the culture, you will have to start by changing the organization." It is a statement I take because great customer service at all levels within my organization will not only indirectly change our organizational culture, and provide for healthy enrolment, but more importantly, we will be better equipped to prepare students with the necessary skills to excel in their future professional endeavors. I realized that there is a lot of commitments and dedication that makes a good organizational developer and designer.

I look forward to ensuring that I put considerable effort to help in the realization of my lifetime academic goals as I grow to be a responsible individual in society.
