Introduction
A workplace in a business context can be referred to as a place set aside to carry out commercial activities to make a profit. To carry out these profitable activities, there is a need to have resources. One of the essential resources needed is workforce, which should be highly trained as well as highly experienced. The administration must ensure that the work is transformed in a positive way to continue maximizing profits (ZivkoviL, 2016). To achieve positive workplace transformation, the following steps should be considered.
The first step is to identify skill and talents within the available staff. Through identifying skills and abilities, placement or division of labor and specialization will be easy. When teams are placed in the areas that are talented, working within an organization flows well, which leads to excellent delivery. In addition to that, there will no or minimal supervision of employees, which means that there will no time wastage (Landy & Conte, 2016). Therefore the managers must adopt this method of talent and skill identification as one way of transforming the workplace in the 21st century.
The second step is that of creating an innovative team within the company. The innovative team works in a cohesion way to ensure that the company is working towards achieving set goals and objectives. To obtain creative organizations, some of the following aspects need to be factored in. The first aspect is recognizing that your employees are the best assets. This brings out a feeling of acknowledgment which motivates employees. If staffs are known and also be involved in the process of decision making, they feel necessary. Such a feeling triggers employees to continue working hard for the betterment of the company. It is suitable for the administrations to consider the creation of the innovative team and to recognize employees as a method of transforming the workplace in the 21st century.
The third step of creating a situation that transforms the workplace is through training employees. In the current world, a lot of trends are happening due to globalization. Use of advanced technology is also venturing in the modernized world whereby most companies are already gone digital. It is a scenario which suggests that a lot of training needs to be done on employees for them to be conversant with this digital world (ZivkoviL, 2016). One of the factors which need to be considered in training is communication within the various department. Communication using modern equipment is necessary since it is effective and fast. Employees will remain connected with administration together with clients. In a scenario, a company will build a good reputation which will attract new customers as well as maintaining the already existing clients.
The last step is employee appraisal about their performance. Employee appraisal is among the most reliable tool which can be used to create a transformed workplace. When individuals or group are motivated through given tokens or outside trips, they tend to work more, which improves the productivity of a company (Landy & Conte, 2016). It is essential for managers to make sure they have motivated their employees for better results. Motivated employees tend to work toward achieving a common goal. When members of staff in a company are working as a unit, they tend to create a conducive environment for every employee. Such a conducive environment makes the minds of employees to be at a relaxed mood, which contributes towards achieving a high level of effective production.
