Introduction
One of the ways of considering the message of Jesus regarding the already or net-yet kingdom is to understand that, in many ways, Jesus emphasized not on deliverance from the Roman Empire that was an important issue, but the deliverance from the dominion of sin and domain of Satan. Whether or not they dwelled in the same geographical zone was also not important. Jesus announced the end of enslavement was over not because Rome was about to be overwhelmed, but because he was God's chosen representative to free his people from sin and the devil.
In Mathew 4:17 and Mark 1:15 Jesus said the time for the kingdom of God has come nearer. He argued people to repent and believe in the good news. In Mark 12:28 and also in Mark and Luke expands on this current sense of the kingdom. Jesus is removing demons and his actions have caught the attention of some Jews leader who claims that his action of casting out demons was through the demonic powers (Grassi). His response in Mathew 12:25 is explicit, that each Kingdom separated against itself will be destroyed and each home or city divided against itself will crumple down.
Paul View of the Death and its Significance to Believers' Lives
Paul message regarding the resurrection of Jesus Christ is that salvation was not possible without the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He further illustrates this by saying that Jesus would raise those who were dead in Christ. He defines Jesus as the first fruit of the resurrection and that his resurrection is made accessible for all of humanity. He goes ahead to retaliate the fact that there exist resurrection for the dead, baptism for dead by the living ones was necessary. He states further that believers would be raised unto Jesus's resurrection, and new immortality and body shall exist. There is a victory for all believers through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus is a gift to Christian believers, to spend all their eternity with God the Father, and Jesus his son. Paul states that there would exist no salvation without the death of Jesus Christ.
Describe the False Teaching Using Catholic Epistles in Early Church
Gnosticism was the most recognized and prevalent early false Christian belief systems. An associated belief system initiated by Marcion, the son of a bishop in the early church in the 2nd century. Marcion came to reject the Old Testament claiming the merciful and forgiving God that Jesus talks about is diverse from the one who passed condemnation and judgment on thousands of people.
Another major false teaching in the early church that expanded into the 3rd century was that of Arianism. Arianism claimed that Jesus was not always in existence and that he was subordinate to God. Arianism attracted huge following but was seen as a false teacher by others including the Catholic Church (Oakes). Following this, the Catholic declared Arianism a heresy at the Council of Nicea.
Finally, there are several false teaching that is rampant and affect the church today. The Charlatan is one good example of such false teachings. The charlatan is an individual who uses Christianity as a way of personal enrichment. The Charlatan interest is only on Christian faith to the extent that he will enrich himself through it. He makes use of his/her leadership position to gain from others' wealth. In Acts 8:9-24, states that Simon Magus was inspired by the love for money when he attempted to procure the power of the Holy Spirit.
