Introduction

As a professional in nursing, you are tasked with always providing access to proper health care, this is to those who normally do not have the ability to afford the medical services (Jarrell 2014). The patients include those that are poor and the uninsured populations of the community from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. As a public nurse, one always strives for the prevention measures over the treatments (Carabez 2014). Nurses try to achieve his by correcting poor health practices. The primary goal of a professional nurse is always to give education to patients through intervention programmes which are community-based with an aim at correcting multiple health issues that lead to countless visits to the health facilities.

In the presentations that are routinely carried out in schools, the senior centres and the local groups the main aim of the nurses is usually in explaining proper nutrition, to demonstrate effective and safe health practices and advocate for early detection or diagnosis of the common diseases by educating them on the symptoms and also enlighten the community and family members on how to take care for the disabled or the ill (Carabez 2014).

It's also the duty of nurses in low income and rural communities to avail critical health care services like immunisation of children, pentanal advisory and how to take care of their newborn (Carabez 2014). They are also tasked with recognition and response to a potential health crisis (Jarrell 2014). Conclusively the nurses aim at improving health at the community level in addition to working behind scenes of planning activities, budget management and evaluation of the effectiveness of public health programmes.

The favourite part of being a nurse is that you get to aid people through health complications they may be having and also get to help them through their recovery which is often one of the patient's greatest challenges (Carabez 2014).

The least favourite is the situation where a nurse has to explain that a situation is beyond control. In all situations, no nurse enjoys the situation where they have to explain a poor prognosis to the patient or his or her family members (Carabez 2014). It's even more difficult having to help them make necessary arrangements the may be as a result of the death of the patient.
