Introduction

The film "Home" (2015) was written by Tom J. Astle, Matt Maber and Adam Rex. It was directed by Tim Johnson, and its stars are Rihanna, Jim Parsons, and Steve Martin. It is an intriguing film which involves the human race and the alien race. The Boov alien race has become a master in one thing; running from their enemies. Their foes are the Gorg, and while in the quest of finding somewhere to hide the Boov locate a new planet: earth. Smek is the commander of the Boov and has the principal duty of leading their intrusion to the other planets where they move to. They reposition people to other parts of the earth and live in their homes, which they revamp to suit their requirements.

One of the Boov called Oh is very unique from the rest of the Boov as he has a loving and kind nature, and he is excited to move to earth. In one scene, 'Oh' invites the Boov to his apartment for a housewarming party; however, no one shows up, making him feel more left out. Another main character, Tip, is a teenage girl who was separated from her mother Lucy during the relocation where Tip was left alone with her cat pig while her mother was sent to another part where the humans were relocated to. This encounter made Tip hate the Boov; and while one of the Boov enters Tip's home, she takes off to try and locate her mother.

Oh meets into a Boov cop who is as well annoyed with him, but Oh always calls him his best ally. Oh invites the cop and then chooses to deliver it to every Boov, on earth. However, he makes a mistake and sends it to everyone located in the galaxy, inclusive of the Gorg. The Boov panic and declare that Oh is a fugitive and when the news reaches Oh; he runs to the convenience store where he also gets Tip and her cat pig. Oh agrees to help Tip, with the request that she should disclose her location but they have to go to Paris at the Boov command center first. Smek, the leader of the Boov, is given a solution of deleting Oh's message so that it does not reach anyone, but they have to find Oh to provide them with his unique password. Oh tries to run away from Tip but he does not manage, and they have to work together to find Tip's mother. Kyle also attempts to arrest them but fails. In the end, Tip reunites with her mother while Oh becomes a hero to both the humans and the Boov after he makes the Gorg go away after returning the rock that Smek had stolen. The movie ends with a party where both the humans and the Boov celebrate the flee from captivation.

The film 'Home' has a chronological order of all events since they are all well-organized and follow a specific sequence. This allows the viewers to be captivated as a result of the eagerness to know the next action or event. There is only one point where flashback is used to depict the time when the rock is taken from the Gorg, by Smek. This is an essential scene since it gives a chance audience to foreshadow the future event, without knowing the actual event. This allowed the author to introduce the reminiscing "oh" aspect; not for just one of the principal characters being named Oh but also, for the audience to experience the "Oh" factor.

From my standpoint, 'Home' is an entertaining film that I would recommend for anyone; because it is not only captivating, but also funny and gives a chance for the audience to comprehend the meaning of stepping up for others, keeping promises, and not being afraid of loneliness. The characters are well- placed to fit in the sequence of the film so that they can portray the critical themes that are to be showcased to the audience. On a scale of one to ten, I would definitely rate the film ten.
