Introduction

It is an exciting thing having the privilege to work for the first time in the united states. As a volunteer, I count it as a very good opportunity to nurture my skills, ability, and competencies that I learn in class to a real-life situation. It was a good opportunity for me to work as a volunteer. It was not just about volunteering but a moment of getting experience as I prepare to enter the corporate world.

I was thrilled by the proposal number 6; this gave me more insights, and I thought I should participate in the evaluation and determine what probably been done well and what required adjustment. It is important in the first place to make sure that the specific time for the distribution of food is standard unless otherwise. This should be to avoid causing young children to keep waiting for nothing. If the distribution of food is in line with the USDA education rules, it should ever have a standard time for distribution.

It is also important that before food is prepared, there should be a random prior determination of the availability of the children. This is to avoid wastage of food that would otherwise be eaten because there are no school children to eat. One of the critical aspects and fundamentals in the provision of food programs in schools is that you must be sure the number of people that the food is being prepared for.

It is commendable that sometimes, the school going children are given uncooked foods so that they take them as take home. This is essential, especially where there is a very high probability that the school going children might not afford to come the following day and pick the food under distribution. In case of such circumstances, it is recommendable that they are given the takeaway food so that they will cook it all the same while at home, after all, the food has the same nutritional value as the one under distribution. In other words, the same nutrient value that would be enjoyed by those coming to the site will be enjoyed by those who had taken take home.

However, it is very unethical for the volunteers to fail following the guidelines and requirements as stipulated by the USDA. Nevertheless, it is not right to replace food with stipend reimbursement. For neutrality and fairness, it is important that all children be given foodstuff to promote fairness and not replacing food with stipend reimbursement. In fact, replacing food with stipend will not be in consideration with what the intention for the distribution of food was meant for.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there is also a great need for the volunteers to make sure every child that is supposed to gets food get it. The probability is high that a substantial number of children might not be able to come at the site of food distribution. Those who are not able to get to the site are also equal to getting benefits of the food distribution program. The main aim is to make sure the children get the nutrients requirement of the time and therefore it will make no sense if only a group of children gets food and the other one doesn't get access to the distributed food.
