Introduction
At times, a lack of knowledge can be risky as far as healthcare is concerned. If a mother of a newborn has been reading about vaccines but not in a position to outline their benefits, it is crucial to help her to change her mindset. As Rosdahl and Kowalski (2017) suggest, people's bodies require protection from infections by toxins to keep the body in the right condition. That should be the first information to give. Secondly, she should be assisted to understand that vaccines are crucial since they can save the child's life, are safe and effective, and can save the family a lot of resources spent through medication. Immunizations are a preventive strategy that everyone should help to promote. The main objective after meeting the mother is to help her to understand the benefits of vaccines to the child and the entire family.
Immunity and AIDS
A body is classified as healthy when immunity is high or in the right levels. When it is low, infections and opportunistic diseases get a chance to enter a person's body. When a person becomes HIV-positive, the lymph nodes die or decrease in their capacity such that the body is in a state where it cannot keep away the foreign organisms (Rosdahl & Kowalski, 2017)). HIV makes a person highly vulnerable to illnesses by wearing out the antibodies that fight infection. If not appropriately treated, a person's immunity declines profoundly leading to AIDS; it is the last stage of HIV infection, which shows that the body's immune system is at a critical level. Therefore, unless immunity is low, HIV cannot lead to AIDS.
The Respiratory System
Alterations in Systems
Alterations in various body systems can affect how breathing and gas exchange takes place. Apart from the respiratory system, others connected to this issue include the nervous and cardiovascular systems. Problems in the spine can cause problems too. When breathing issues emerge, oxygen cannot move into the blood. The various types of alterations leading to breathing and gas exchange problems include conditions affecting nerves and muscles that regulate breathing. For instance, a problem such as muscular dystrophy may be a leading cause. If damage occurs in the ribs surrounding the lungs and other conditions such as scoliosis may affect the muscles and bones that help a person to breathe. The outcome is painful breathing.
Optimum Pulmonary Functioning
At all times, the heart should be in the right condition to pump blood. As a result, there should be practical interventions to optimize pulmonary functioning. The lung volume and blood flow rate increase when a person carries out aerobic exercises. As Rosdahl and Kowalski (2017) suggest, the enduring power of the respiratory muscles improve the respiratory functions. However, it is worth noting that it is not all exercise that helps to enhance optimum pulmonary functioning. Aerobics is the preferred choice due to its low intensity. Above all, considering that regular exercise improves the physical capacities of the body, the lungs require the same exercise. This point implies that aerobics is a physical exercise of the lungs that optimize pulmonary functioning. It should be highly encouraged.
Immune Disorder
Allergic Disorders
When allergies occur, the body is disadvantaged such that it cannot respond to some allergens appropriately. Allergic symptoms occur in the nose, lungs, and skin, among other body parts. The effects are not primarily physical, considering that allergies prevent the boy from consuming some types of food and beverages. Doing so ensures that the body is restricted to consume some food against a person's wish, and it can be financially draining is the options are expensive. Also, allergies affect someone's emotions, such as the case of allergic asthma that causes mood changes. Relationships are also affected since it might be challenging to live with allergic people. The (future) plan is to come with as many brand and generic treatments to cope with allergens.
