United Health Care is a healthcare service provider in the United States. The organization serves close to 85 million among the 50 states in the U.S. Its headquarters is based in Minnetonka a town in Minnesota. The organization was formed in 1977 and later went public in 1984. Borkowski, (2015) states that, the organization has grown tremendously throughout the subsequent years. The company through the American Association of Retired Persons has managed to provide insurance coverage for its members. Besides this, through the Eva care program, it also provides care to the elderly as well as those suffering from chronic diseases (Borkowski, 2015). It is through these initiatives and many more that it was ranked position 14 out of 500 in the Fortune rankings back in 2014.

According to a report compiled by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (2013), the United Health Care group provides insurance services and plans such as the Medicare Advantage employer-sponsored insurance and managed Medicaid. Its services across these segments are performing quite well making it able to venture and expand to close than 125 countries. The organization is able to serve huge populations as well as provide extensive services by the help of its professional medics. Beside this, it aims at providing service care and innovations in order to attend to evolving needs of its customers across the globe. The United Healthcare group has a well laid out structure and platform that is used to serve its clients, namely; the United Health Care and Optum services. The United Health care is distinctively a service provider platform that has offers health care and benefits services. On the others hand, Optum is designed to provide information technology and health services to its clientele. This enables patients to be at ease to access health information as well as be attended to by qualified personnel at their own convenience.

The United Health Care group has been able to set up several strategies and plans that are designed to meet the health care needs of its citizens in the next decade. Through its various programs such as cancer payment model, united health care is able to provide an innovative system whereby its patients can provide payment in bundles in order to meet the requirements and treatment of its cancer patients. This helps ensure that, there is a continued system in the monitoring of its patient during diagnosis. Besides this, it has also managed to provide and set up a diagnosis programs, prevention and control alliance whereby through its partnership with the YMCA, the organization is able to provide service to diabetic and obesity patients. Harrington, & Estes (2008), the company has put more emphasis on providing its services to patients suffering from diabetes, cancer, and obesity since they are some of the common chronic diseases that patients suffer from in the 21st century. Their preventive programs such as education of masses also play a big role in ensuring that the society is well informed on matters to do with healthy living (Harrington & Estes, 2008).

In addition to this, the United Health Care group has provided several innovative mechanisms through which their patients can easily access their records and information. This has been made possible through its Optum program whereby patients can access medical information as well as converse with physicians directly through an online system (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 2013). Optum one provides an integrated platform whereby, care providers are able to analyze health conditions of patients, take necessary action depending on their health condition as well as synchronize all the information needed for future diagnosis. This helps to save time and resources since patients from all over the globe can access health information as well receive their diagnosis on time. This also helps to create an easy time for care providers to monitor their patients even after discharge. Optum 360 was also launched in order to provide an ease of time when it comes to the billing of patients records as well as transparency in the health administration. This gives confidence to patients and other stakeholders who deal directly with the united healthcare group. Patients are able to know how their savings have been utilized and how the organization is performing. It is also venturing through promotions on billboards, radio, and social media for the masses to know of its ventures.

Nurse staffing

Checkley, Ghannem, Irazola, Kimaiyo, Levitt, Miranda, & Prabhakaran, (2014) state that, due to the increased crisis on shortage of nurse staffing, United Healthcare has established a strategy that will provide a program whereby their nurses undergo frequent training during their period in the company. This will help them be up-to-date as well offer better services to its customers. Beside this, it will be able to ensure that nurses are equally distributed in all departments to attend to patients (Checkley et al. 2014).

Resource Management

Through its Optum program, efficient resource allocation and transparency will be a key factor at United Health Care group. This will be made possible through the technological systems whereby, the management can easily account for its funds and resources as well as give out a detailed budget that will be used.

Patients Satisfaction

Through the companys system in the management of resources, and its IT program, activities such as patients health records, billing system, health information, and online services will help to create patients satisfaction. According to Wolf, Hanson, & Moir, (2011) United Healthcare group will be able to attract more customers and yield higher profits in future. The image of a company is a key factor that should not be compromised (Wolf et al., 2011).

United health care group is non-profit health organizations that are aimed at improving better health care systems and improve lives. This is achieved through its diverse forms of innovations, professionalism of its service providers as well transparency and effectiveness. Through these few measures, it has been able to ensure that patients satisfaction is made a priority and that it is the leading health care service provider in the state and across the globe.
