The clinical problem that I observed is patient care safety in a hospital organization. Patient safety refers to the prevention of harm to the patients. The environment provided to the patients determines security and quality of a patient care. In most of the hospital organizations, the patients are not provided with the care safety they need. The patients are usually provided with an environment, which has complex interactions and other factors like technology, policies, and disease process. If the environment that the patients are exposed is not safe, then it will result in things like associated healthcare infections, surgical complications, handoff communication, medication errors, and poor interoperability. Furthermore, most of the patients suffer, as they are unable to get quality care safety from the healthcare workforce. One of the associated changes that should be made is ensuring that the workforce is safe. The reason is that when the workers are safe, then they will do their best to provide the patients with safety care.
The evidence-based solution chosen for the identified problem
The evidence-based solution for the problem of patient care safety in a hospital organization is supporting the healthcare workforce. It is the duty of every hospital to enhance the care safety of its patients. However, the patients safety cannot be improved if the healthcare workers do not feel safe. Therefore, it is the responsibility of a hospital organization to ensure that the health workers are safe before ensuring patient safety. If the health care workers are safe, then they will not focus on their security thinking that they will get hurt. Instead, they will spend their energy and alertness in offering good care for the patients. The reason is that the clinicians cannot treat others if they are not provided with the required care. The employees should be given with both psychological and physical safety to motivate the patients.
The evidence on which the change was based
The change of first ensuring that the workforce is safe was based on the evidence that it is important for an organization to ensure the workforce safety for them to enhance the safety care of the patients. Ensuring the workforce safety is a prerequisite for the care safety of the patients. Furthermore, healthcare organizations usually have intense pressure, violence, disrespect, and disruptive behaviors against the health workers. These issues have a direct impact on the care safety of the patients because healthcare workers can only conduct their best in ensuring care safety of the patients when the environment is safe for them. Therefore, it is important for every healthcare organization to provide a conducive environment for its employees.
The process used by the organization to change
Hospital is regarded as one of the most hazardous places to work. The reason is that the employees have a high chance of getting work-related illness and injuries. The organization should take the step of creating a suite of resources that will help it assess the workplace safety needs. The other step is to implement health and safety managements systems. The process will help the patients enhance safe patient handling programs. Preventing the injuries of the patients will help the patients and save hospitals resources.
Discuss what you would do differently now
From now on, I will always ensure that the healthcare workforce is provided with the required resources to help them take care of their safety. As a clinical officer, I will encourage management of the hospital organization to provide the workforce with both psychical and psychological assistance. Through my position, I will ensure that the organization implements the change to make sure that the clients are provided with quality safety care service. Through this, I will be convinced that I have conducted a change in not only my hospital organization but the rest of the hospitals.
The risk to the organization by not making the change
The hospital will face various risks if it does not implement the change of ensuring health care workforce safety. Additionally, if the change is not made then the employees will not be able to care for the patients safety effectively. The employees should cooperate with the employer to enhance safety. However, if the change does not occur then the quality of care safety provided to the patients will decrease. Reduction in the quality services rendered to the clients will further make the patients go to the other hospitals where they can get quality care safety. Furthermore, if the change is not implemented, then it will be difficult for the workforce to maintain and improve competencies to the activities they are assigned. The reason is that they will view the organization that does not care about their safety.
Conclusion
The patient care safety is the foundation of quality health care. However, to enhance care safety, the organization should first ensure that the healthcare workforce is provided with the necessary care security. Through this, they will be able to concentrate fully on providing the patients with quality care services. Therefore, if the change is implemented, then the employees will be able to reduce the risk of adverse events, which are related to exposure to a range of conditions or diagnosis.

- During American civil war, the North had historically been identified as states that were free and ones which opposed Confederacy and slavery. The struggle against secession as well as slavery obscured the reality. As early as 1796, the terms South and North were used as a warning against dangers of political differences which existed bringing forth prevalence of unions in the North more than the South. In the North, West, and Midwest states, development was majorly characterized by a system of agricultural diversity, commercial vigor, and free labor. Towards the end of World War 11, labor and politics in the North West, and Midwest states were having a unionization rate of approximately 40 per cent (Timothy, 2006). The New Deal party was favoring formation of Unions unlike in the South. The party was also promoting formation and growth of bill of rights of the North economy and National health insurance. In the Southern, there was low unionization rate and also the political climate did not favor the formation of unions. The Southern reactionary politics had pulled the political economy of America to the right, hence becoming a barrier to the establishment of a social welfare style similar to that of Europe and also undermined the formation of unions and wages of unions in the South (Peter, 2017).
