Introduction

Public schools within the United States have made it a priority by providing the necessary education beginning from kindergarten to the twelfth grade. The primary education is available free of charge for any student and parent, and it has also been mandated by the state. After a successful completion from the basic education, any student or parent that is enrolled is provided with a high school diploma to certify that they are ready to get employed for the basic skills. Although the education has been provided for free a lot of people do not complete and obtain their certificate due to some issues that range from hardships to educational quality and the availability of resources in distinctive school districts. A large contributor to the public school funding is the local property taxes although it differs under relative affluence that is there within each neighborhood.

A reduction of the available funding within each public school means that there is a reduction in the available electives, and also the advanced placement courses. Record of such cases; point out to the limitation of students and causes inequality within the schooling process since there are no better opportunities that guarantee access to the courses since the available schooling system will not observe them as necessary (Marris). The schooling system that is there in public schools provide a basic education that is required to attain a General Education Development (GED) therefore, and one can either obtain a job from there or further their studies. The most affected types of populations are those that are there in lower-income cities or neighborhood. Some racial and ethnical minorities are also under the category. There are factors such as racial inequality, school infrastructure which contribute significantly to what the public school receives as funding. Mainly, students often drop out due to factors such as a lack of support coming from the parents or school faculty.

Under the report provided by the United States Department of education, there is only eight percent contribution by the federal government to the funding of public schools. Therefore, the funding of the remainder of the balance to top-up per each student in the education system is left to the state and local governments which have been mandated which have been mandated to assign money to public education (Eaton). There is a portion as to which the state is supposed to provide from its revenue, which mainly comes from the sales and income tax, and is directed towards education. The decisions towards the spending and set aside are largely decided by the state constitutions, a consideration of propositions and the assuming government officials.

Measures, Procedures, or Steps for Its Rectification

Since it is apparent that the income tax and tax revenue is distinctive from one state to another, the serving education funding model has resulted in a huge disparity when it comes to the funding directed towards a single state and what they receive. It is evident that schools that are there in affluent areas get more of the funds when contrasted to the ones that are based in low-income areas. Therefore, the present model has availed some challenges to the public schools that are based in low-income places since the performance measures are entangled to the serving funding approach. The states that have currently low-income also have the poor infrastructure for their public schools and lower taxes which leads to poor funding in the specific public schools. Poor performance has been directed connected less funding in low-income states, and it indicates that there should be something to be done.

There should be a forced consolidation of the nearby school districts, which will, in turn, dilute the impacts of the valuable properties which are not paying taxes. All over the United States, public school is required to provide their services where the low-income districts have suffered mainly due to costs. However, if the nearby districts were to combine they would experience a reduction of the administrations, transportations and some many other unwanted services which would reduce (Spring). Looking at one large joint school only requires a single transportation director, a superintendent and many more. Consequently, the small but several district school need one of their own a cost that could be cut-off. Establishment of a large district school will mean that the property tax revenue for the current district would hold up an area which the funding will no longer stand as an issue.

Costs, Equipment, Personnel Needs, and a Schedule

The implementation of the above solution will be at no cost since the available resources will be used such as the transportation director who is currently serving on one of the schools will be chosen. Consequently, the resources such as structures which have been abandoned by some nearby schools will be used in the expansion and making of the school bigger. The issue of funding inequality for many schools and districts will be as good as solved. The schedule will be directed within three months to formalize everything.
