Another specific goal is to the reduction of future criminality among the youths. In this perspective, children refer to the people who are under the age of eighteen years. There has been an observance that most of the teenagers today despite their gender are usually involved in various types of delinquents. Therefore, both the treatment and prevention programs are vital in efforts to reduce juvenile crimes in the community since they are interrelated and useful.

Objectives

One primary objective of preventing youth crimes in the society is to curb the youth population who become adult criminals. This objective can be achieved by preventing the occurrence of future criminal deeds among adolescents.

The other objective is reducing the number of youth crimes being committed and help in recovering the youth life for good. To reduce the number of youth crimes, programs that are designed with the aim of producing social change in the societies which have experienced increased rates of youth criminal activities require being established.

Action Steps

One of the action steps is the formation of juvenile crime prevention programs. These programs need to be established with the aim of convincing the youths to change the negative behaviors that they are faced with for them to become more productive in the community. Each person in the world is today influenced either directly or indirectly by the juvenile crime (May, Osmond, & Billick, 2014). The adolescents' unlawful attitudes are responsible for influencing the country's development every year. Thus, delinquency among adolescents remains unchanged. To successfully reduce the rate of youth crimes in the community, there must be the creation of prevention programs. The programs should also aim at being preventive of the future crime occurrence. The plans must start by promoting the rights of the youths; have a reconsideration of their attitudes, and this will result in motivating teens to become valuable members of the society.

The other action step is the provision of juvenile delinquency treatment. This approach will be used in dealing with the youths who have shown to be having destructive behavior that is persistent as well as those who have committed severe and violent offenses in a given time during their early childhood. Some of these severe crimes include non-negligent manslaughter, robbery, rape and assault which are mostly considered as adult crimes. The community must be involved in providing of treatment to the adolescents who have been involved in these serious crimes by providing protection, care, and treatment for the youths who are in need while they are in the government institution treatment facilities (Moffitt, 2017). The principle behind the action step of juvenile delinquency treatment is stopping of youth offenders from continuing with offending behaviors and become productive members of the society. Therefore, this action step is crucial in the successful transforming of youth offenders' behavior in a positive way, in a manner that they can conduct crime-free life in the community. While juvenile crime prevention programs attempt stopping the youth from involving in various criminal activities, juvenile delinquency treatment focuses on the teenagers who have already been engaged in the delinquents.
