Introduction
Today social learning with the inclusion of SMART goals has predominately been focusing on social media and the media multiplexity theory. Through social media platforms, an individual can enhance particular self-presentation theory amid an individual's self-esteem (Forest & Wood, 2012). Self-awareness theory is improved through the frequent use of social media platforms (Forest & Wood, 2012). Self-evaluation becomes the norm in life when people frequently engage in social networks. People can set their standards regarding the information that they acquire and view on the media platforms (Hawi & Samaha, 2017). Through the stimulus valuation, people can compare themselves with others as a way of enhancing their self-worth.
Through an approach of following an action plan for all my social goals, I was able to learn how to make working plans concerning a plan for specific, measurable, achievable and time-bound are the deliverables of goal making that were part of my action plan (Forest & Wood, 2012). Social learning practices like how to measure following matters, determining the needed aspects, the quantified aspects and desired results in social practices have offered me a chance to connect the social practices with the most desired approaches in all aspects of life.
According to Forest and Wood (2012), a better plan that incorporates SMART goals on social learning requires a proper plan concerning the task at hand, the desired results, a measure on the progress, the factors to quantify, the achievable resources and skills and considering deadline and realistic factors.
Experiences Learned as a Child on Social Learning and Through Today's Approaches on Social Media
Social media sites like My Space, Twitter, and Facebook, is a pool of information where anyone can get enlightened on anything and also gain several other advantages (Forest & Wood, 2012). With the high growth of technology in the world, there has been an emergence of some issues which necessitate the need for people to develop particular traits to cope with the lifestyle that is brought about (Forest & Wood, 2012). Roughly ninety per cent of students in colleges have at least one social media account (Forest & Wood, 2012). Overindulgence in social media affects users' lifestyle in both positive and negative way that results into long-lasting impacts to the users.
Social media sites have now used by social workers as a platform for enhancing the mental health of users (Hawi & Samaha, 2017). Therefore, the reliability of the sites to information provides a platform for individuals to obtain wellbeing especially when people seek help from the social media sites through the data shared on the sites and passive advice that is usually related to people's past experiences.
Social media provides a chance for users to evaluate their mind, behaviour, and life. Through social media platforms, self-esteem which is the personal reflection of an individual is enhanced. The users can express an attitude of approval amid showing the degree by which a person has confidence in their ability, perceived success, and worthiness (Hawi & Samaha, 2017). Through social media, a person can judge themselves thus portraying the individual's self-esteem which is personal evaluation is enhanced (Forest & Wood, 2012). Personal judgment is promoted through the use of all possible social media sites. Through the website, the individuals can acquire better attitudes and values that are acceptable by society.
