Introduction

My nursing skills were prepared while in an international college that mainly focused on medical studies. I graduated with an Associates Degree in RN. After three months on the floor doing voluntary work in two local clinics, I got a promotion to work as an Office Director. My duty involved ensuring order and quick service delivery in the outpatient section in a multispecialty unit. The excellent work I performed while in the position of an Office Director earned me a second promotion. My new post was in the Cardiology section where I was responsible for assisting and offering direction on different pulmonary testing and cardiac surgery challenges, coordinating and ensuring timely service, and accurate patient data is recorded and kept. I was also tasked with in-office duties for a variety of specialities within the hospital. While in the new position, the service delivery and order in the hospital was significantly improved. The improvement earned me a third significant promotion after two years in Cardiology position to a System Analyst. My duties involved hands-on schooling of the EMR system interface within the hospital. I enrolled in IT professional courses, where ANCC certified me. I majored in system analysis and software design.

The Value of Best Evidence as a Driving Force in the Delivery of Nursing Care

One of the primary responsibilities of the nurse professionals is to ensure evidence-based practice within his or her area of specialization as it is an obligation of the nursing duty (Graber, Siegal, Riah, Johnston, & Kenyon, 2019). Evidence-based practice is a consistent practice within the university regarding the RN SM. It is advised to use the University Hospital system as a basis to teach as the system is based on innovative, research-based, and quantitative practices. Concepts of liberal humanistic practices are highly favoured hence viewed as significant evidence-based practice in the nursing field. Evidence-based nursing primarily aligned with the supremacy of the empirical sciences. The institution is still adopting a complete, evidence-based nursing practice and faces opposition from the old generation of clinicians who depended on traditional methods of nursing.

Safeguards and Decision-Making Tools That Are Embedded In-Patient Care Technologies and Information Systems That Support Safe Practice at Your Facility

Techniques That Improved Patient Care

The key technologies being used in the institution to enhance patient care include the implementation of Electronic Health Records (HHR), Secure Texting for Healthcare, voice enablement for clinicians, and the Big Data Analytic (Graber et al., 2019). HHR is an evolutionary technology that provides critical health data of the patient. The health records and any other data stored in the HHR are significant to the provision of quality patient care.

Groups That Depend On the Information

The groups that rely on the data provided are nurses and medical technicians. Nurses use the data to better patient services within the hospital. Doctors use the data to determine the type of medication to be prescribed. The dieticians also use the data to modify the diet of the patient according to the doctors' instructions (Green & Thorogood, 2018).

An Example Of How Garbage In/Garbage Out (GIGO) Impacted A Decision Related To My Information/Data Collection

The hospital information technology context garbage refers to data that is filled with errors. The GIGO helped in updating patients' data, where new records were inserted depending on their health improvement. Updating the system led to clear data on the patients' progress.
