There are myriad opportunities that currently exist for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to participate in policy review for instance in Texas actively. RNs and APRNs can lead in the meaningful and ethical within their professional setting to change the direction of policies in their fields. They can also go beyond their area and step in the less-familiar world of policies and politics (De Simone, Planta, & Cicotto, 2018). This is because they should be playing a more significant role in advocacy. However, nurses are hit by various challenges. One of them is the inadequate inter-professional collaboration among health care professionals drawn from multiple disciplines. There is also the aspect nurse-to-patient ratio which is very high, and these hinder the policies of nurses - there in need of systematic campaigns that would enhance the collaboration among the health care providers.
