Introduction
Racism is credence in the pre-eminence of one or several races over others, habitually defined by ranked sorting of racial clutches (Benoist 1999, Pg. 14). Instances of racial discrimination or rather racial interlinings have been evident from the colonial period up to today when the same struggle is visible in the sports sector, education sector and employment, among others. For many years, different individuals have tried to explain differences in human races based on scientific proof in what they have termed as the science of race. The science of races is grounded on the notion that there is a link between intelligence and race.
For instance, the idea that some human races have a high IQ level than others is has been appeased by a group of scientists researchers and scholars who are using the media to pass this false doctrine to the community hence using it as evidence to explain why some individuals are superior to others. These individuals claim that there are evolutionary proofs for the difference in wealth levels, education attainment, life expectancy etc. among racial groups with the struggles among black people being attributed to their low intelligence levels as compared to the whites. Scientific proof of this theory has been contradictory over the years, with some scholars in support while others are against the hypothesis with scientific evidence.
One of the explanations as to why it's difficult to eradicate scientific racism is that individuals hear more about the racism than it does about the science. This has left a loophole for folks like Charles and Nicholas, in union with their mass media promoters, to hold themselves up as modest protectors of coherent analysis. With so much concentration on their deceptive prejudice, little has been done to deliberate on the science. With this ignorance in public, racism will remain dominant as the public will only be feeling its heat without knowing the origin.
Due to scientific disapproval, perpetrators of race science have devised new ways to keep the notion going. For example, racial scientists have now turned to political forums, where they call themselves political advisors, to spread the same message. These are the individuals behind the spread of ethno-nationalist politics, which is prevalent today. For example, one of the supporters of the US president, Steve Bannon, currently wrote concerning the shooting of some black Americans that they somehow deserved it because individuals of a particular gene are generally more stubborn. Additionally, another race scientist by the name Charles Murray gave expert advice to the Senate that led to the slash of Aid to poor Americans by the Republican Congress. This is merely racial science operating under cover of politics under which it is hard to be eradicated, even though it has been scientifically proven to be wrong.
Evolution in the techniques of spreading racial science is the reason why it has been challenging to end racism. Among the individuals who have worked hard to revive the science of races is Nicholas Wade, who published a book that sparked contrary motion among scientists and geneticists. In this book, Wade suggests purely racial points, i.e. race corresponds to differences in biological composition among human beings and differences in intelligence levels are a result of a difference in the evolution of human brain among races. In addition, Charles Murray, An associate writer of the book, 'The Bell Curve', that was originally published and the best seller in the New York in 1994, argues that the high poverty levels among black people can be attributed to their low IQ (Herrnstein, Richard and Murray 2010). With such printed material that is easily accessible, racism will still be there no matter the amount of effort put in to fight it.
Inclusion of racial cultivating activities in the school curriculum makes youngsters grow up with the racial mentality of which it's challenging to get it out of their heads once they have learned it. Boas, a liberal Negro living in the US, receives a note from a high school teacher telling him that their biology book had drawings showing a difference in chromosomal make-up of the white men and black people. Boas responds by writing to the editor of the book and president of NAACP. However, instead of finding help, he was stopped from publishing his magazine (Lewis 2001, Pg. 459. This is a clear indicator that indeed, racial perpetrators are currently in positions of power where they control events and limit those who tend to fight them. Also, equity fighters in the community are very few.
With the rising of globalisation, racism has become more complicated to understand. The global community is characterised by decentralisation and upward accumulation of finances and deepening identity politics. In most instances, this shifting usually occurs on racial lines unnoticed, and this is the case today. Racism is much practised but uneasily recognised in the present day society.
Little education among individuals about the basis behind differences in human nature has largely affected the war against liberalism .There is a generalization even among little African kids that the whites are always superior to the black individuals. In fact, the guardian magazine author advices that the war against crime is not ending soon and the only way to curb it is radical education. Unless there arises people who do not fear criticism and who are determined to face out this vice, the world will remain a prison to some people and a heaven to others.
