Interest- Boys should be tough and aggressive as well as born before girls so as to take care and defend their younger sisters.

- The belief by parents that sons gendered accountability imposed stronger constraints in boys than in girls in conjunction with the certainty that boys are superior to girls Kane (2012; 110).

Critique- Not every child would indulge in gender-based practices as theorized by Emily Kane. In some exceptional cases, some children never change. They maybe boys but portrays girlish characterizes and vice versa. Thus gender is not directly proportional to activities performed by either a boy or a girl as assumed by the research conducted by Kane.

The most interesting issues I came across are the assumptions that; first, boys should be tough, aggressive and be born earlier so as to take care and defend their younger sisters imperatively. Charles claims that Byron is a tough kid and he has got a little sister to watch over. Jerome also asserts that he wanted a boy first so that their daughter will have a big brother to defend her Kane (2012: 85-86). Ideally, this serves to be not only interesting but also funny. Since however much the boy-child is given such a responsibility at their tender ages they are still defenseless and are virtually dependent on others; very few will have the guts to protect their sisters. Alternatively, they can protect them in the future which is in accordance to Schwalbe and his colleagues who on their analysis of processes. They assert that fathers are expected to train boys as tough, strong and independent individuals so as to protect their family members that are weaker such as their wives when they are old enough Kane (2012: 86). It serves to be meaningful here, but contrary to what people such as Jerome were upholding that young boys ought to protect their sisters.

Secondly, is the belief by most parents that sons gendered accountability imposed stronger constraints in boys than in girls in conjunction with the boy being superior to females Kane (2012; 110). Indeed this is not factual information. Both boys and girls will exhibit similar constrain provided that they get nurtured in constant environmental conditions. The belief that boys are superior to girls as most cultivars claim is an old idea which should have been entirely outdated by this century. Holding all aspects constant according to detailed research in place currently, then it is documented that if both boys and girls get equal chances to compete on their own either of them will achieve what the other could reach in any given field without the infliction of gender biases.

According to Kane (2012: 110). She asserts that the patterns of the behavior among the cultivators is that they value emotional attentiveness, nurturance, conscience fashion, connectedness and appearance in daughters. Additionally, they believe that girls should be used as objects for others to gaze upon and provide service to others Kane (2012:110). Ideally, this is interesting but not pleasing since it bars girls and women from participating in the economy, cultural and the political arenas. Therefore, to curb the issue gender equality should be upheld and give both boys and girls equal competitive chances without looking down one party upon the other.
