Introduction

The two American political and ethics philosophers Rawls and Nozick analyze the important roles of the government in the society in response to racial discrimination. Public debates about the gender inequalities have been unfruitful due to the ignorance of many people. Most of the public tends to ignore fundamental issues that concern society such as the need for equality and public fairness regarding resource allocation and distribution. However, Nozick and Rawls discuss two perspectives on racial and gender fairness in society. It is through fairness and equality that binds the nation into one unity to enhance economic development.

John Rawls

John Rawls generally talks about people's selfishness and ignorance of their rights. Many people tend to assume that everything is all right when they face discrimination in public. The self-interested individuals think they are fair to everyone, but on the contrary, they mistreat others. According to Rawls, every person is entitled to a rule that eliminates arbitrary differences in society. The law should promote fair treatment in all places such as offices, hospitals, court and in schools.

Gender discrimination mostly occurs in the workplace where males are more favored than females (Mills 25). They usually receive job promotions, sponsorships, and scholarships as compared to women who face negligence. Every individual should receive equal treatments if the level of their capabilities is the same. Rawls said the society should cease to refer women as liabilities but give them enough physical and emotional support.

He also argues that an arbitrary difference, which has no choices, restricts freedom. Every individual has the right to liberty and to own things regardless of gender and race variation. However, the public policies should address the issue to ensure fair treatment achieved. Many people suffer from low self-esteem, which can have health implications such as tremor at times due to prejudice. The society should adopt measures to solve the concern through respecting women as well as interacting with people of different race.

The main principles of race and gender discrimination according to John Rawls are liberty and equality. It is because these two qualities go hand in hand with each other. People require fairness to have their freedom to perform their work. The process of the national building may not necessarily be that effective and helpful in a nation that lacks fairness and liberty. Similarly, fair equality of principles and opportunities is necessary for every person. Every person should have equal rights to the basis of liberty in the country. A society with inequalities outcomes should consider the justice of distribution (Carcieri423). However, society should embrace every person, as it needs companion and identity by the others. The community should preach and spread unity and love to all people without looking at the gender and race. It will help to solve the problem of public discrimination, especially to the women.

Nozick Robert

Nozick Robert is also a political philosopher who fights for the equality and fair treatments to all people (Smith). He explains his views using three principles such as justice in an acquisition where every person owns whatever they possess. Therefore, nobody should take someone's property and give it to other people without the owner's consent. People should stop discriminating others regarding their level of possessions. Justice should prevail to such people, as they feel lonely and abandoned. It is important to note that any form of discrimination has a fundamental threat to the existence of humanity. Living as one entity fosters community building and enhances national unity.

The other one is the principle of justice in exchange for goods and services. People should learn to share with their neighbors to increase social interaction so racial and gender inequality can diminish. The principle of transfer involves exchanging gifts and donations to the lowly people in society as a sign of giving back.

Nozick suggested that to eliminate the kinds of discrimination in society today requires people to solve the present problems rather than looking at the past. In the current days, many people have enrolled in education hence know the need for promoting fairness. Similarly, others have opportunities to join the white collar jobs thus intermingle with all kinds of people including different races (Rawls and Erin Kelly 22). The ability to enhance unity and corporation is a great matter of national concern. Therefore, society should try to enact ways to solve the gender discrimination basing on the recent studies, as the largest percentage is literate. The legacies in society are the source of threats to many people, as they still believe in gender inequality. The ability and the notion male are the dormant personalities something that should be avoided as it creates division. Many older people consider women as weak and inferior and men as the superior being. However, to help solve the problem people should address the past harms without developing other issues.

According to Nozick, a community may not find it easy at certain points to tell the history to certain problems without necessarily creating other injustices. Injustices are issues that can easily enhance national disunity especially to those who live as one community. It cases fears and panic to the community as a whole. The best ways are to distribute and share resources according to the value of the people's actions. It promotes togetherness in society hence developing a peaceful coexistence without unfair treatment. He suggests that people should focus on dealing with the present injustices and forget the effects of the past unfairness. The possible solution to solving the past crimes is through redistribution of the wealth to the society.

The legacy of racial unfairness and slavery in American politics continues to cause division and tribalism to the people. The black Americans face racial discrimination, as the white people do not accept their existence. The federal government promotes the unfair treatments influence based on arbitrary differences instead of addressing equality problems. The government should enact a permanent measure to solve the racial and gender issues affecting the American people. Alternatively, the notion of unfair treatment is also in the tax debate. Equal and fair treatment is an issue of national concern that seeks to enhance corporation and unity among those that live together as one family. The poor are the one who in many circumstances pay taxes genuinely as the rich scoop public funds. Every citizen should pay his or her tax fees to enhance the growth of an economy.
