Looking at inter-group relations issues, it is hard for someone to make any improvements in these inter-group relations. This paper will try to address these issues. It is commonly known that major problems facing inter-group relations are discrimination and favoritism. Solving these problems is not a guarantee that there will be an existence of positive inter-group relations. It should be noted that approaches to reducing negativity inter-group relations are quite different from approaches of improving positivity in inter-group relation (Thomas F. Pettigrew, 2013).

We are first going to discriminations in inter-group relations. Many types of research have been carried out to discover the origin of this issue but not all have bared fruits. Discrimination can be termed as an unequal or unfair distribution of the group's resources. Discrimination can also be in the form of treating the other members of the group unrightfully. Although this has not been an easy task, suggestions to deal with this issue have been developed in large numbers (Everett, 2018). Some elements have been developed to deal with this such as mutual understanding of the group members for the minority to make major contributions. There should be rules made to observe equality in the group and that in areas of discussion, each member has the possibility of winning or not winning.

In inter-group relations, there has to be respected for a peaceful co-existence to be experienced. Conducting research will help discover which groups are less tolerated and groups which are more tolerated. This will help in training as the trainers will be able to know how they will handle different groups differently. These discrimination issues should be dealt with while in their early stages because it will be difficult dealing with them when they are intense. There are some factors which can lead to discrimination among groups. One of them is substance abuse. Changing behaviors of substance abusers is quite difficult. Their alcoholism behaviors, their smoking habits, alcohol consumption, can be stopped, but this will not stop them from breathing. But this can only be stopped by either death, members becoming disable or members losing their central capacities (Everett, 2018).

Conclusion

Generally, it is quite hard to deal with discrimination issues among groups. That is why it has been a difficult task in researching the best ways to overcome this. But it will be easier if specific individuals were dealt with as this seems to bear fruits (Thomas F. Pettigrew, 2013).

Training should also be carried out to teach group members of ways to avoid these inter-group issues. These training also have their weaknesses which may include inaccurate hypothesis presented to deal with these issues (Everett, 2018). This seems to be the only major problem, and it should be addressed accordingly. Researches carried out to identify problems related to intergroup relations should be accurate. Groups should be trained perfectly on how to co-exist with other groups (Thomas F. Pettigrew, 2013).
