Introduction

Teddy Roosevelt is one of the leaders in the history of America that are always remembered for their strong leadership. I choose to discuss on this former president because he was the first person to receive a Nobel peace prize in America. He is also known to have been the youngest leader that assumed power due to the assimilation of the then president, and then made several improvements that made him become elected when elections were conducted. There are other things that this president did while in power to make America different. Some of them are discussed in this context.

What led to the awarding of the Nobel peace prize to Roosevelt is the way he organized the troops to win wars, hence ensuring peace. When there was a war that came up between the United States of American and Spain, he was involved in ending this war. The main aim was to gain "independence for Cuba" (Miller & Aaron, p.10). This fight is what led to the award that was provided to him during the year 2001. This meant that he was a leader of peace and always wanted peace by ensuring people did not have to keep fighting every now and them.

When coal workers in the United States went on strike during the year 1902, this president took it upon himself to come up with a commission that would solve their problems. This was the time that coal serves millions of people in the United States. He ensured the commission came up with the solutions or else the military would be used in mining. The commission found the man problems, came up with solutions and the workers went back to their working sites. Some of the solutions included an increase in pay and a reduction in working durations.

Since the days of civil war, the issue of railroads had been of major concern. The people who owned the rails did not want others to utilize them. This later grew up into being a certain type of monopoly during the time of Roosevelt (WILLIAM, p.64). However, his governance worked towards ending this by passing laws that regulated the use of railroads. He was involved in forming of an agency that would keep a check on the railroads. This meant that they would no longer be used as a source of division.

He is also remembered to have pushed or "conservation of natural resources" in the United States (WILLIAM, p.63). He ensured this by making conservation a national issue that every citizen had to keep. More lands were set aside for animal parks during his time in governance. Forest developments were also not left unturned as one of the issues of nature conservation. He is also an author, he wrote about wars and the ways in which people fought. This knowledge made him become successful in strengthening the American navy.

Conclusion

In summary, it is clear that the developments introduced by this leader who was young while assuming power were beneficial to the country. Right from security in the armies, conservation of natural resources to legislature and labor matters, he was able to control problems that affected people. This created imagery that the leaders that followed had to copy so as to transform America further. The same case had been witnessed up to a recent year; every president leaves his own history in terms of transforming politics.
