It is apparent that social organization of soldiers determine the success of operations that they go to in various parts of the globe. They are taught to assist one another and to develop the greatest form of brotherhood in the army, in this manner, the soldiers are discouraged to watch over one another and ensure that they help everyone when they in trouble. The social organization of the soldiers is evident when they go out for war (Reed 261). It is during such times when the soldiers are ready to die for their country and their fellow soldiers. They are encouraged to ensure that they return to their bases as a team as the same way they left their bases, and that is of great importance in building cohesion between them. Additionally, soldiers do not hold grudge against one another and they are encouraged to sort out their differences effectively and as soon as possible.

The collected data from the research hypotheses will be analyzed to help in improving the understanding of the population to enlighten the population on the role and effect of brotherhood of soldiers. Various factors play out distinctly and affect such brotherhood in various ways. There is therefore the need for the society to acknowledge impacts of the same in encouraging the soldiers to uphold brotherhood, unity and cohesion.

Ethnographic Techniques

In the process of examination of topical issues, there are various ethnographic techniques that would help in the examination of issues at play. In addressing the research question, one of the techniques that would be used to address the research question is participant observation. Participant observation is where ethnographer becomes involved and immersed in the activities of soldiers they are investigating and assumes the role of an active player (Stankovic 233). In the process of being part of the group, the ethnographer participates in the culture and records extensive notes from the field. In this manner, this form of research proves to be limitless with regards to the observations made and no real ending point of the research.

The second technique of ethnography that would be used in the examination of topical issue is the use of questionnaire. The questionnaire that is used in this study is designed for soldiers and their senior to examine the issue effectively and the importance of cohesion and social organization of soldiers. Most of the questions will be closed-ended questions in a multiple-choice format. The questionnaire will consist of three sections; the first section will collect background information about the respondents. The second section will seek to identify advantages and disadvantages of brotherhood and social organization (Coulter 69). The last section would contain questions focused on identifying necessity of brotherhood, and impacts of the same in the operations of the soldiers.

The final technique that would be used in the process of examining the topical issue is in-depth interviews and it is through interviews that there would make it easy to solicit views of army leaders to enlighten the population on the necessity of brotherhood and cohesion of soldiers. Through the interviews with the leaders, there would be the ease of understanding how to develop unity and brotherhood of soldiers and its benefits to success of combat (Flannery 118).

Data Analysis

In the examination of the role of unity and cohesion of soldiers, there are various topical issues at play and which help in explaining debates that have been held towards the same. One debate that has been cropping among effects of changes that soldiers have to go through and the effects on their religious and cultural values (Voll and Sarah 197). This is because there are factions of soldiers that believe the such unity affects their religious and cultural beliefs in a negative manner. There are also factions of soldiers that believe the unity leads to higher casualties in the battle fields. In this regard, the use of questionnaire would help to address the question by soliciting views of different respondents on whether the meaning of brotherhood and their social organization on the success of their operations. Observation would also give the ethnographer an opportunity to make an observation of the celebrations to make a conclusion on the same.

The other debate that has been coming up for years among soldiers is that there is no professional rule that require cohesion for soldiers to be effective. The same would be addressed in the questions that would be distributed in the questionnaire to solicit views of different soldiers regarding the same (Grew 264). Interviews with army leaders would also help to shed light on the feelings of the leaders towards the same.
